About time!!! *sips Little Creatures Golden Ale, with a bottle of chardy chilling in the fridge* :D

Good choice in Beer! Just about to do the same, our beer fridge in the boardroom has just been restocked

Can someone please help me? Should I go to Thailand in October for 9-10 days considering I am already going in June and December?

The clutter in my mind is killing me and I can't think straight. I don't need the extra trip but I certainly need to have some time off as I do not feel I can go 6 months without a break. Time off work is not an issue. Money is definitely an issue but you can't take it with you when you are gone....

Well when 4.30pm came around, I just left the bag at my desk and off to the Staff Club.

Two hours and a few schooners of Coopers Pale Ale later.... back on AFF! :p

Should probably put my stuff away and consider going home.

Strewth just go. If you can do it and enjoy it then you will be heaps more productive upon your return.

Must start planning my next holiday.

I'm still in shock after my Hamilton island trip... Shock that I'm back at work that is.

Depends when in October, as we might be having an AFF do in BNE. But maybe you should take a break, just not somewhere as costly. There must be a few places closer that you could visit.

JohnK is not the only one agonising about October.

I'm keeping in mind AFF #4, but I'm also set on making Star Mega DO II, which is scheduled for end of October.

How could you even consider comparing the Star Mega DO II with AFF #4 :?:

Very easily.

One has to consider in order to evaluate whether it is worth doing.

After I considered whether it is worth comparing, the comparison was made and I'd like to attend both functions, but on further discriminating consideration, I definitely wouldn't like to miss Star Mega DO.

Good enough explanation for you, Sir? :p

Then I should be also thinking of going in March/April as well....

If I go to Melbourne, Cairns, Perth for a week it is going to cost at least $1,500. I don't think $2,000 is over the top for a golfing holiday to Thailand for 10 days. I just wish I did not spend all that money on gambling when I was younger....

You gamble every time you look at the loads on the plane and choose to buy a ticket in a particular class, hoping by the time you board you’ll have been upgraded ;)

Do you have enough days off to take a 10-day holiday in October?

That must be the award you booked using QFF points. Are the status runs over already?

Indeed, all done and dusted. Back in London now and looking forward to a good night's rest tonight.

I would have said opium poppies ... I've been to that part of tassie.

BTW, I'm currently flying between SFO and LAX using GoGo inflight WiFI - they gave me a free code ... (otherwise USD4.99)

Are you sick of flying yet. You were in the US last weekend and now you are back in the US, maybe there is 2 of you so the other one can rest. :p

This really depends on your credit card debt; and your available time off work.

Going twice will be nice; going 3 times the experience is still good; going 4 times I can't really see getting more value from it.

One motto is you could be dead tomorrow so you might as well do what you want but in another case more likely than not you will be alive for another 40 years then you got to worry about the credit card debt.

I am another one interested in Star Mega Do 2; so the 22-24 October isn't going to suit me either; but my credit card could also be something I need to consider; going to AFF4 in Brisbane will be a much cheaper option as I am already planning on the US in June.

I'll be the stick in the mud and say no, you shouldn't. Yes, take time off (absolutely agreed on the break every 6 months thing), but find somewhere different to go that's within budget. Maybe there's somewhere in Australia you haven't seen yet?

Not quite the same.

Do you have enough days off to take a 10-day holiday in October?
The 10-holiday would involve departing Thursday afternoon on QF001 and returning the Sunday the week after on QF010 to MEL then SYD then BNE by about 11:00am and off to work. According to my Annual Leave spreadsheet I have enough holidays, including time off in lieu for Exhibition Day in BNE, to cover the trip.

I thought he was over there recently. And when I commented to serfty if he was still in the USA he said he only just arrived.

The credit card debt is a worry but can be managed if I don't overspend. I don't consider holidays overspending as they are very useful to keep me happy and motivated instead of stressed.

Assuming I am still working in BNE then I do not think I can make it from June to December without a break. I have been good this year as I have not taken any time off without pay like the previous couple of years.
