The "Found the love of your life" couple would be funny, if it wasnt so stereotype sad. She looks like shes sizing up the rock and is disappointed, much like his non medicated performance.

Is it your other dog? I know a couple of excellent behaviourists in Melbourne if needed. It won't get better, only worse.

No, it's mum's dog. Our other dog is a complete cough cat. I'm open to suggestions if you want to PM me, thanks.

Poor Miss Daisy is celebrating her first birthday with a new bite/gash on her leg :(
That's not good for her - if this keeps up the scars will mean a modelling career will be out.
Seriously though I hope it's not too bad and heals cleanly.
Just what you don't want especially as you will be staying with mother for a bit.

It's going to be a very long 12 months at this rate. She was running around on three legs last night but is back to using the foot today, though holding it up when she's not moving. Looks like a tooth went straight into her leg. :-| From mum's perspective, Daisy is the aggressor but given only Daisy is getting wounded, I'm not convinced (and I'm not saying she's blameless).

I'd be immediately implementing not having the 2 dogs running together (i.e. sharing the same space) unless it is under supervision. Separate feeding and no bones or treats left when they are together. All resources like toys away too. They are clearly fighting over something - it could be resources, it could be the body language between them, it could be one of them not respecting boundaries and ignoring warning signs.

If Daisy is not the instigator then the big watch out could be development of fear aggression - she fears she will be attacked so will attack first. This carries over to not only the home but interactions with all other dogs. You don't want a fear aggressive dog!

I have the sweetest dog who just wants to be everyone's friend but he is a big dog and he has excitable body language (but has never been allowed to jump on other dogs etc). His 'energy' has been misread a few times which has resulted in him being attacked - with 3 of the times resulting in wounds. While I would not class him as having fear aggression (as I have made sure it does not happen), he skirts the edge of being reactive - so instead of becoming immediately submissive at the challenge, he will respond. It has completely changed how I manage him around other dogs - by pure necessity especially as he weighs close to 70kg.

We might consider taking you up on that one day soon.

If people in NSW are looking then top picks are:

Steve at K9 Pro - K9Pro - The K9 Professionals - he works a lot with Police, customs etc and is considered top of the field - there is usually a wait to get a consult but they are awesome in their support and help over the phone too. I have used him and a number of friends have too.

Never ever fall for the temptation of getting Bark Busters in! They are a franchise operation and are not behaviorists.

Everything I've read so far says that separating will make it worse at it creates their own territories which they then try to defend. Plus there isnt room to give them their own space (which is probably half the problem, small courtyard with nothing for them to do). They have no issue snuggling in bed together at night in the laundry, and they dont appear to be fighting over anything in particular. Its almost like one accidentally bumps the other and sets of a tussle.
We were also very strict with Daisy when she was a nippy pup and doesn't bite, not even when someone is poking around checking out her wounds.

Who wouldnt love this face?

It is about separating them when not supervised to ensure that a fight cannot occur - vs creating own territories. They are more inclined to guard resources - like food, toys and people - sometimes spaces like a bed or a couch.

I know a few coughes run together who will snuggle etc and be all happy but then there is a slight breach of the social etiquette rules and it is all on and they will fight to the death given the opportunity, hence why not leaving them together when you are not around.

Are they both crate trained? A crate can be a great safe space for them to be in - and can feed in there too. My dog for example will pop himself in a crate when he just wants time out.

There might be some adjustment going on too - as they get used to having to share the same space and people etc and are a bit confused as to who the 'leader' is (which is you not them!).

Thank you.

Our problem is barking though she is getting better.

I emailed the agent and asked if the bondage equipment was left there on purpose for the photo and they took the bedroom photo off the listing... but the internet is forever and I have the proof :)

Um NO.
Not correct.
My barking comments referred to Milboo's offers of dog trainers and has nothing to do with blackcat20's biting issues.

My mum's dog keeps biting my dog. No barking.

See, thats why I needed it spelled (spelt?) out to me.

As i said before, theres only one Queen per household, apparently its the same for the hounds and they are slightly peeved by the changes. New people, new dogs, change of noise and schedule and having to share space. Hopefully they will settle down.
