Isn't replacing a fuse relatively easy? Bunnings usually open at 6-7am in my area.

Very old power board, ceramic fuses, up high and a prior directive that they should only be changed by an electrician for safety reasons.

Thankfully there was hot water this morning!

You can (or could) get circuit breakers that fit into those fuse slots.

Bunnings have them or similar at electricians shops like Cetnaj who also sell to public

They "fuse" a lot quicker than the old fuse wire
just ask for plug in circuit breakers

ive got them at my place

Though best to get electrician to give fusebox a once over when installing these.
Repeated fusing or circuit breaking mandates a visit anyway

I started thinking Athens and Japan are pretty close so why not do both.
Lisa Scaffidi was spotted in Scoot economy when it was her dime so MrsGarrettM might win on the Athens idea.

We did Japan and Italy last year. No problem at all... ;)

Pro tip, don't buy electrical items from Bunnings.

The plug ins are good as they are essentially a "like for like" replacement as if you replace a fuse with a circuit breaker (which are better) you have to bring the entire switchboard up to current standard.

Yes! I remember we did that many years ago before finally replacing the whole board during a renovation to add new circuits and earth leakage. One issue the OP May have us that the old circuits are probably overloaded, hence the original blown fuse, so the breaker may keep tripping earlier than the original fuse.

"In the old days", of course, many people would just use stronger fuse wire and dangerously overload and overheat the circuits potentially leading to house fires.

MrP majorly wrecked his elbow tripping over in Collins street a few years ago. He did smash the end of it though and had a large ceramic joint fitted. His elbow joint was rotated 180 degrees so it ended up in the bend of his arm! A wonderful taxi driver saw the incident and drove him back to the Hyatt where he was staying and administered oxygen and got the ambulance for him (sent to Epworth Hospital) I was surprised at how much nerve function runs through the elbow. He can't fully extend his arm anymore, and is unable to rotate his wrist as in a golf swing. Rather wrecked his plans for retirement enjoyment not to mention his new golf clubs not able to be used any longer.
