I heard on the weekend that all hotmail accounts were being migrated to outlook.com; I have no other information (such as timeframes) on that.

It was third party and I never used hotmail after its early days as I did not like the ads my recipients were subjected to.

It's been redirecting to outlook.com (or live.com) for quite some time so I dont think thats the problem. It seems to be only an issue in Firefox.

I used MSN last night to access hotmail and it worked ok, today firefox and hotmail are still not talking, it might be time to part ways with hotmail and find something else. after 18 years it might be time to say good bye.

I booked some activities in the US for my trip next week, and by the 4th transaction I got a text from Westpac to confirm whether one was fraud or not.

I guess the name "CRUISINTHECASTROTOURS" sounded a bit dodgy to the bank.

I will need to ring them and advise my travel plans.

At my age JohnK, I find Y quite uncomfortable and I'm only 5'10 and 70kg. For me I reckon that J is twice as good as Y, especially in refurb 330 to BKK, or other long haul flights.

I am surprised that you say that for you business is a novelty - I would have thought you have had many biz class flights.
Understand that economy may not be comfortable for some people.

For me economy is fine. Don't get me wrong I'd love to travel business more often but that expectation would be unrealistic. For some reason I am able to switch off and economy can be enjoyable.

My first goal is to stretch the budget to travel more. I can't wait for the day to start travelling with my wife and daughter when daughter gets a little older. First big trip will be Disneyland and Disneyworld.

You can temproraily disable OCSP stapling in Firefox if you really need to get to Hotmail

In a new tab, type about:config in the address bar and press Enter
Click the button promising you will steer clear of dragons.
In the search box above the list, type ocsp
Double-click the security.ssl.enable_ocsp_stapling. The value will change from true to false.

I use Firefox to access Hotmail/Outlook in the office and at home. I was getting intermittent issues yesterday. Sometimes refresh would work other times I'd need to close the window and launch again. This morning in the office it started up first go.

A few months back I could not load Hotmail/Outlook on Samsung using Internet as there were certificate errors and would only load using Chrome which I don't like.

I have been using Hotmail since 2000. Every enhancement has taken something away and made the experience worse. Outlook was poor and hated when Hotmail decided to go down that path to merge the 2 products.

I'll persevere with Hotmail as I don't like using Gmail.

Just purchased my tickets to Cirque Du Soleil - Toruk in Sydney - October. (birthday pressie to me)
First time at Homebush instead of in the tent at Entertainment Quarter.

Going to book the Novatel or Pullman? We do this, even though we live about 10klms away, we make a day/night of it as we dont go out much.

Kids used to do Castle Hill show with the Ponies. Floated them into Showgrounds but had to stay over night at the grounds - if ponies are using stables.

So we cleaned out the horsefloat and slept in there.
Never again. Next year booked a room at the Novotel Norwest and the kids slept in the float. Could have gone home - just 15km away but Novotel was closer in case something happened.

Low cost carrier means their costs are low. It doesn't mean the cost for the passenger is low!
Very deceptive business model.

I still need some flights for 1 weekend in July and 2 weekends in October and JQ is as expensive as VA and QF on some flights and that's just carry on only.

I noticed today that the house up the road is advertised as the next suburb over.

So, example only/not actual suburbs, although situated in Concord, its advertised as Cabarita (more expensive/nicer suburb). Its right on the border but advertised as the suburb its within a street of but not the actual suburb its situated in.

Hmmmmm

One agent near me got caught out for calling the suburb a different name. He took the bordering suburb and added North to it. Invented his own suburb.

House next to me, in the copy it described the house as 20 years old when I know it was only renovated and was from the 1930's. The same agent also got caught out for under quoting dozens of homes.

I had issues connecting to hotmail.com from Firefox at work this morning. I eventually tried outlook.live.com, and that worked. The message that I saw was all about a trusted connection, or similar kind of terminology.

JohnK - my personal suggestion - consider Hong Kong Disneyland when Little Miss is little, rather than Disneyland or Disney World. I've heard great things about it being wonderful for small kids in particular, as well as other kids. We first did Disneyland with my Little Miss at 4yo; it's more enjoyable when they're older and can last the day. I waited until she was almost 9yo before we went to WDW - it's SO big, I recommend the children being at least 8 before going there. Lots of travel time between parks, etc, so much larger than Disneyland.

My 2 cents - of course, you three do as you wish/prefer!! :)

And you may find the tickets to the Parks to be more expensive than the flights. We are taking the grandkids to Disneyworld next January-and their parents. So 5 adults-the 12 year old is an adult to Disney-and 2 kids for 4 days of single park tickets came to over $4000.

I am generally a pretty tolerant person, but if you are a smoker and want to be taken seriously in a corporate/office environment LEARN TO SMOKE DOWNWIND (e.g. so the smoke is blown away from you, instead of onto/into your clothes).

A colleague and I just got in the elevator in a Sydney office tower and this guy smelt like an ash tray. Immediate judgement, and she was far less forgiving than I was.

Are you going to utilise Fast Pass?

Re smokers: Uggh, I can walk into an empty elevator and still smell the stench.

Absolutely. Also staying inside the park so extended hours.Didn't need that second kidney anyway.

Hubby likes to hit the ice cream shop under the Novotel before heading back to the room.

Had a property manager who once advertised a house we had for rent at Toongabbie as Parramatta West.

Be sure to give me the name of your kidney guy, I told hubby today I want to quit working :)

And nice on the family holiday - something they will always remember

Seems to work out in Chrome but not in Firefox for me. Now failing on my laptop as well, though works again if I go to outlook.com rather than hotmail.com
Aha! Many Microsoft websites don't really like browsers other than those from Microsoft ...

No, show is at 1pm on Sunday. 2 hour drive each way for us, but think nothing of doing that. Even considered getting the train, but will make the decision the day before.
We used to stay at the Novotel when the kids had state sports, was much less stress than driving down on the day and getting caught in traffic.
