This is Ryan. Ryan missed his flight because he went to QF terminal and not VA terminal. Ryan is very angry at someone, hes pacing up and down and he wants HR to "sort her out" and "its not my job to micro manage my travel" and "now I have to sit in this cough**** lounge for 3 hours" and he has to "reschedule all my meetings because she cant arrange anything for s***" and "Im sick of her".

Considering the guy is in the lounge, Im guessing he might have VA status (unless hes flying J) so I would have thought that a VA flight would have been a possibility enough for him to check his flight.

I want to slap people like him ! It is always someone elses fault that caused them to miss their flight ! So HE didn't check his phone for flight number and departure time ????

I can understand Ryan's angst to a degree. We use Virgin when Qantas rates fail. I've taken over booking flights because our EA doesn't travel much and has pulled some very unexpected clangers. Even when specifically directed to book certain flights. But she would book the wrong month for instance. When travelling for work and having appointments organised it's embarrassing and while you can excuse weather events the client doesn't look kindly on such stuff ups.

Of course the fine detail is up to him but maybe he doesn't check in online but does it at the airport. We really don't know the background.

It's a 5 minute walk between T2 and T3 in SYD. Even if you arrive 15 minutes before checkin closes there's enough time to head over to other terminal. And with QF checkin closes 20 minutes before flight if no checked bags.

Might have taken a few minutes to work out the issue. Lugging a suitcase it's cutting it fine.

Ryan needs to firstly calm down.

Years ago, a South Melbourne player forgot his passport and thus missed his flight to NZ.

Ultimately we are responsible for ourselves.

paper delivery Rant.

My driveway width is about 15% of the street frontage of my property. The rest is a high hedge.
Given that and given that paper delivery is usually someone driving a car while throwing the rolled paper,
then why is the paper always in the same spot in the hedge?

Surely at random 15% of the time it should land on the driveway?

I have to crawl under or rummage within the hedge to retrieve paper.
Im thinking of cutting an opening in that particular spot of hedge, or just getting an online only version.

That changed a while back - check in closes 30 minutes before flight via all methods - mobile, online, terminal or counter (and in any case, Ryan was actually supposed to be checking in with VA, not QF).

Ring them up or visit the newsagent everyday and ask for a replacement as it "wasn't delivered".

Flew into HKG this afternoon on an ANA 789. They have the same washing facilities in the J toilets as they do in the fancy hotel loos.

In the old JAL F lounge at NRT the ladies loos played music when you opened the door to go in until you pushed the flush button ! You had a choice of music or the sounds of a waterfall

I'll see what they have now when I am there on Sunday.

Stay 'tuned'.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

You are lucky they still deliver !! Our local newsagency hasn't delivered newspapers for a couple of years now !!

I had the same situation, but that is why I cancelled delivery (it was either in the hedge or more often than not, had rolled back onto the road if it hit my (downward sloping) driveway. The number of times it wasn't there (I rang up for another delivery) had them in apoplexy about their additional costs. I countered with "well there is grass in front of the hedge and after my driveway, or steps to my front door that I'm sure at which you could aim" didn't go down so well...or my contention that "their errant throwing onto the driveway has meant somebody driving along has picked it up"...

Funny thing is I see the delivery guy most days when I am out walking my dog and he still waves hello...

Just installed a mobile phone trigger for the electric gate. Now I can let people in and out when on the other side of the world.

Trigger unit has a sim card. Aldi $5. Ring trigger sim number, triggers a relay which opens gate.
Mobile numbers are registered within trigger unit so only registered mobiles can ring an trigger the gate.
Can also program mobile numbers for certain times of day, week number of entries.

Hope the CIA dont come after me:) for using a GSM trigger.

Now if they could do that for a garage door ;)

I swear I'm going to start wearing a face mask, like they do in Japan.

Some ahole had Ebola this morning because I've got scratchy eyes and throat. Uggh. Gargled three times already.

In Asia it's the sick people who wear the masks. ;)
