Missed you by that much, I landed at HND about 1430.

My travel day today was:
Driven from Niseko to Kutchan, regular train to Otauru, airport express to New Chitose (CTS), flew to HND, monorail to Hamamatsucho, Yamonate line train to Tokyo, Shinkansen to Kyoto.

Got to love the JR Pass, it covered all of the rail travel including the monorail.

The JAL Diamond lounge at CTS was very nice and the private entrance via the fast track security lane was very quick.
I am long gone. Currently in BKK waiting for check in to open.

I also bought a super-king doona but finding quilt cover sets I like in that size can be problematic but the extra size as a bed cover is nice.

Singaporean department stores have quite a large range. Not sure why, but if you are in the area...

Love my king size bed! It must be about 10 years old now and I've been thinking about replacing it but it's the 'perfect' bed firmness wise - it's not firm but it's not soft, it's almost like it is perfectly neutral. I use a duck down mattress topper on it.

I find the Sheriden fitted sheets the best to fit mattress and topper. Some other brands don't have enough depth in the skirt.

If I could have any bed I've ever slept in then I'd have the one from the Belmond in the Sacred Valley, Peru. That was the dreamiest, most comfortable and luxurious bed I've ever slept in. Slept like a baby in it!

Water bed..... 33 years old.
Gosh, is that like the old giant single bladder beds?

For cotton sheets, I got a great set from Target. 1000 thread sateen, very comfy and deep for the mattress height.

For flannelette sheets, picked up a pair at one of those pop up kiosk places and its wonderful and warm. Wish I bought 2 sets.

I've picked up some good sheets from Target before too but sadly they are not deep enough for the mattress and the topper :(

We once slept on a waterbed for a few days. When I jumped into bed mrsdrron had to hang on tightly so she wouldn't be thrown off.:oops:

Pretty much guarantee that I will get sea sick on a water bed.

Coming home from nightshift in Canberra on a cold, frosty morning, it was great to jump into a nice warm water bed. That was only for a short period though when I was house sitting.

We had a waterbed for >20 years. It had a 7 layer of some material inside which attenuated the rebound. Never liked it. When the heater died, went to sleep maker and bought a really nice mattress
The advice from the salesperson was to find the one that sleeps the nicest and then get the next level up in terms of firmness.
She was correct

Had a waterbed for 30 odd years-our last bladder was much changed from the old ones with no baffles. The thing I miss most is the warmth in winter. We spent a lot of money on a replacement for our waterbed only to have it fail twice under warranty-was one of the ones with numbers where each side had different firmness-will never have one of those again

Thought you were older than that? Oh well, you'll grow out of the wb in a few more years.

ha ha,, bed purchased when we first got married, so I guess it really is only 32 years and 10 months.
