We're going to drive from Adelaide airport and catch ferry over. No real cost saving but we've not been to SA before.

Remember it's quite a long drive to get to the ferry. Much longer than even us locals realise.

Google says about 2hrs but I've allowed 5hrs for breaks, Coles stop ect.

1st night will be close to ferry arrival town, so not far to go to.

You'll be fine then. It's a scenic route once you turn off Main South Road. Which is a horrible road. Grab a nice treat from the Yankalilla bakery.

Be interesting to see the peanut gallery's reaction to Andrew Bolt getting assaulted at the book launch...

Guess it depends on which side of the peanuts you are.

Personally, I detest Bolt, but I completely understand his instinctual reaction to the attack. He can't possibly know what those blokes are intending. In that situation you fight back and you go hard.

That was close. I got to BKK this afternoon before the MH transfer desk opened. Online checkin did not provide a BP, but CX were kind enough to let me in.

The alternative was not worth thinking about. *phew*

The process is finally finished. Our house settled 90 minutes ago.

if I wasn't working late tonight I would buy a bottle of the good stuff to celebrate.

The ACCC should sort this out. Gift vouchers should not have an expiry date. And it should be always redeemable for cash at face value.

Gift vouchers are never a good idea. I prefer to just give cash. Why lock yourself into one company?.
Don't understand why our company gave out Red Balloon vouchers. The markup on many experiences is 20%-50%.

Pleasing to see he can back up the rhetoric with the physical stuff! Front foot from the get go!!!

It's an excellent business rip off - err - model. Surprised ACC or choice has never bothered doing anything.

Perhaps not enough people have ever decided to open a case big enough for the ACCC to actually do something?

Let's not forget that as far as something actually happening, continental drift is handily beating the ACCC.

I suppose it would set an interesting precedent. Can't think of any other country where it is legislated that vouchers cannot expire, though granted Australia has, in my experience, some of the - if not, the - best consumer protection laws in the free capitalist world.

At the very least, a voucher which has expired should be allowed to be returned for a refund at face value (no refund for any fees incurred in purchasing said voucher).

If vouchers are ruled that they cannot expire, it'll be interesting to see the flow on effects to loyalty points.

I was talking to a customer a few days ago and he was telling me about a business that has now got spectacularly bankrupt and we would all know of them. Anyway the owner who is high wealth now and was then put some huge bills on his father Amex Centurion card to keep the business afloat and help with cashflow. I am told it was over 1 million dollars a month and finally Dad cracked it and said no more. That was the start of the demise

I'm surprised Red Balloon has offered me a further 90 days to use the $300 credit.

Don't ever let things go. Send email first then take it from there.
