JohnK Have you never shopped on ebay.com.au?
Those deals look good but I have never been a fan of eBay. Perhaps something to do with the $750 I threw away on an electric golf buggy 13 years ago that I used for ~6 months when I wasn't taking it out to Prestons for repairs. A friend bought one at Marrickville for $250 and it's still going.

I have a rule of only buying from sellers with at least 98-99% rating. It's worked out pretty well. Only a couple of issues, mainly from overseas sellers, and those were rectified quickly.
Plus going through Velocity eStore you get 2 points/$ with eBay. (Qantas Mall is only 1 point/$)

Yep and those little bar coded yellow stickers on the express post satchel or envelope - forget it. No one really records anything with them.

I send stuff express these days because I hope to get it there in 2 days. Normal post is a joke, has been for about a year.

I got an envelope the other day, post stamped 6th July. Got it 19th July.

Edit: Oh and I can send documents via TNT courier interstate for about the same price as a satchel and its tracked.

Ordered a set of Nokian winter tyres from a store in the U.K.
I received the tyres in 5 calendar days. The 4 tyres were just gladwrapped with a freight barcode sticker. And it travelled on QF2

Then I ordered some Uni textbooks from Bookdepository in U.K. Arrived to my daughter via Parcel Collect in Charles Sturt Uni Wagga in 6 calendar days

Bookdepository will freight to a Parcel Collect address!!!

Parcel Collect:https://auspost.com.au/parcels-mail/parcel-collection-delivery/parcel-collect?&ecid=p13616355069

Parcel Collect is essentially a free holding service at a post office for parcels . (Conditions apply) great for daughter who lives in student accom in Uni and thus don't have a proper mailing address. We did not want a PO Box because many online sellers won't post to a POBox. Parcel Collect is free.

So her address in Wagga looks like this:
Ms Quickstatus, Parcel Collect xx_xx_xx_x
460 Valder Way
Charles Sturt University NSW 2xx_

460 Valder way is the physical street address of the Post Office
Parcel Collect xx_xx_xx_ is Ms Quickstatus unique identifier.
Note parcel collect identifier is on same line as name. It should only be on the top line, never the second line

In fact she could use the same Parcel Collect xx_xx_xx_ for any post office in Australia that supports Parcel Collect (not all do)

To be honest there are not that many things that I'd want to buy from eBay. My main shopping requirements are groceries and clothes and I generally don't purchase clothes online.

Definitely Australia ! Have you ever done a "Track and Trace" on the Aust Post website - it is appalling ! Express delivery items don't move from Friday to Monday !!! So if Express is slow - ordinary mail is glacial.

Express Post goes by air weekdays and by road on the weekends. (We've put GPS luggage Trackers in the EP package to prove this.:) ) Also Express Post is often not tracked nor traced until it reached the destination. Go figure. If you are posting Express Post, make sure you get it scanned at a post office when you submit and not just put in the EP box. If you put it in the box, it's only scanned at the destination when (if) it arrives.

Gosh, I think 90% of my purchases come from ebay or via velocity link for points.

When I sent hubby out yesterday to get me a replacement slow cooker, I was "Let me go online first and click store pickup!".

I ordered a particular type of pen that I prefer using in the office via Malaysia. It got to me in 4 days! Sooner than me waiting until the weekend and going Officeworks AND cheaper as I bought a dozen of them.

My pens come from Holiday Inns and other hotels.

Don't need a slow cooker. In fact don't need specific appliances for each specific task. Firstly no storage. Secondly most appliances are cr@p unless you spend a lot of money.

I must agree with you on ebay - I have a 2 out of 3 success rate with that.

For batteries, I came across (after fruitless hunt for car alarm remote battery replacement) a web site for a company only a couple of suburbs away and I figured a charge-back on the CC would not be too hard.

So I ended up getting 4 batteries for just over the price of one at the only place with 25km that had them in stock. Better still it was free shipping to boot.

Ordered on the 19th, replaced in remotes on the 22nd. The other two (expiry 2022) are sitting in the back of the owners manual pouch for next time.

Have a look and see if they have what you're after - batterydeals.com.au

DO NOT GET TOO TEMPTED WITH THEIR BULK OFFERS.... just buy what you need now.

Hopefully now up to moderator standards.:p;)
Exited plane at 2101.
First through e-gates as we stopped at first machines before duty free.
Customs form inspected and stamped then.
Carousel started when only 20-30 pax there. Our bags second and 5th.:shock:
One HCO fellow beat us out by ~30 seconds.
Driver waiting.Very little traffic on Bruce and Gateway.

Not.yet...

I look at the value of 'deals' in terms of the hourly rate received for salary.

I can't remember the last time I purchased a pen.

A thermomix fits the bill exactly!
