I've seen a couple of amazing homes built with them. Would consider it, if I had the guts to take the project on.

They look quite nice - and the steel is special Corten steel - very rust resistant for sea going function
Container Homes - Home

........

My 3rd shipping container is proving difficult to get as I want the side opening ones. Standard ones have doors at the end but I want ones with doors along it's length. Rare apparently unless buy new

Now you would be concerned about paying $4.00 for shoe laces that really should cost $2.00:rolleyes::lol:
I don't feel comfortable overpaying for anything I buy.

I bought broccoli at $2.50/kilo yesterday. I won't buy at $5 or $6/kilo.

My golf rangefinder takes CR2 batteries. They cost $9.90 in Australia unless buying generic. I found some in Singapore and Thailand between $6-$7 and bought 8 batteries. They last around 40 rounds of golf which is around 6 months.

It's all about planning. It all adds up.

Have you tried jaycar electronics - good prices for generic batteries

Sent a postcard from Japan around the 26th June, Kyoto. Arrived at it's intended destination yesterday 19th of July. Coffee shop owners said next time just bring one home with you, can't argue with that.
So where is the delay, being processed in Japan, or after arrival in Australia?

That's not just for one battery right?

I've also sent post cards from Japan recently (May) and they took about a week to get here.

I've had a really shocking week, and it just got worse. Thankfully the local doctor prescribed some medicine to ease the pain.

$90AUD at the corner store...

A record.
91 minutes from exiting the TG 787 at BNE to walking in the door at home on the Sunny coast.

One battery at Bunnings costs $9.90! I think they are the same as the camera batteries.

JohnK Have you never shopped on ebay.com.au?

A quick search shows more than 2000 deals to choose from and the fist few are:

a 4 pack of Panasonic Lithium - $14.98 and free postage
a 2pack of Duracell Lithium - $12.90 free postage
a 4 pack of Panasonic Lithium - $10.49 free postage

Bunnings is just like your expensive corner shop for a lot of items.

We wouldn't look to buy batteries from Bunnings unless they were doing a loss leader sale. Our business sells AA and 9V batteries only and it isn't hard to be competitive.
We are doing a warehouse lighting upgrade in WA where there are zero subsidies to more than halve our electricity use in WA. This is the final work on our electricity consumption in Australia in 2017.
The payback on capital should be about 3 years but it may be less.

I know it is your writing style, but drron, sometimes you need more spaces ...

My first scan of that had you doing the trip in a little under 55 seconds ...:confused:

Definitely Australia ! Have you ever done a "Track and Trace" on the Aust Post website - it is appalling ! Express delivery items don't move from Friday to Monday !!! So if Express is slow - ordinary mail is glacial.

Yep and those little bar coded yellow stickers on the express post satchel or envelope - forget it. No one really records anything with them.

I send stuff express these days because I hope to get it there in 2 days. Normal post is a joke, has been for about a year.

I got an envelope the other day, post stamped 6th July. Got it 19th July.

Edit: Oh and I can send documents via TNT courier interstate for about the same price as a satchel and its tracked.

I paid for priority stickers for wedding invites and they still took over a week within the same state...

I guess the shocking news wasn't that your bank account was empty or your credit card was maxed out to afford a trip to the corner store.

I hope the medicine was able to calm the nerves.
