For us girls. And anyone else who cares.

Where is it? I need to know on behalf of SWMBO!

She finds the purchase of handbags somewhat cathartic and had had lots of such therapy over the years. :D

We can't store them all - this has been much to our daughters' delight as they probably haven't paid for a bag in years.

Sometimes it's just the principle.
Its a pair of shoe laces. Life IS too short to think there is any principle in disputing the price of a $4 pair of shoe laces and wasting your time going to multiple stores just because someone thinks they should be $2. There is no principle, they are shoe laces.

If youre lucky, you will get 200 wears from a pair, thats $0.02 per use. Duct taping paper plates to your feet to save money will cost more.

Gawd. I never keep old receipts.

Washing machine was purchased 20th Feb 2004.

Yes, I keep receipts, warranties and manuals ect - always helpful so I dont feel bad when I have to replace them, when I realise how much good use I got out of the item and how lucky I was for them to last as long as they did. I also keep the box for a year or so, in case I have to return and for storage.

Which brings me to this....

So our dryer (2005) was just replaced and last night I told hubby that my Kindle (2012) is super slow/takes days to half charge and will also need replacing.

This morning, preparing beef brisket for a 10hr slow cook and my slow cooker (2011) is broken!

So disappointed! Now ive got this hunk of meat marinading and hopefully can replace my slow cooker today.

Mrscove keeps files of operating instructions and receipts for our larger appliances. The internet has improved access but isn't always good enough when an appliance is a decade or more old.

Secured replacement slow cooker (Cuisinart) and sent hubby out to pick it up.

Will have to talk him through the instructions on how to start slow cooker - its going to be a 7hr slow cook beef brisket now. Fingers crossed it'll be OK.

Up to you.

If I did that for everything I buy (it's only $2 more) that's a lot of money to throw away.

Usually a life changing health event can change a persons attitude to spending. My eldest brother survived a seriously blocked artery and he went out shopping yesterday. He never used to do that.

Hope hes fully recovered!

So are you talking hookers and drugs or wildly crazy impulse purchase for a hobby/sport he enjoys?

I always say my husbands brother could win $1mil and cough and moan about having to go to the bank and bank it. I also tried to encourage him to join one of those cricket or footy supporters tours, go to the Caribbean or somewhere fun, enjoy. But nope. Doesnt go anywhere, doesnt buy anything.

Denali I talk to him twice a day and he is doing ok. He had a referral to see a cardiologist but planned to get into better shape before the stress test. He ran out of time on that test and has slight damage from a minor heart attack.

Yikes! Hope he takes care of himself.

Which reminds me, my husband is swimming to help him get fit. As the pools also have a gym, his doctor signed a form/recommended gym and we were able to get $350 back through our health fund so your brother should check his health fund to see what benefits he can get. My husband doesnt go to the gym (yet) but pool access is included in his membership.

What did a buy;
Wine, a new TV or something bigger like a new car.

At an ante-natal appointment w/ Mrs AS. Only just found out I get this leave from my employer. Pretty good.

As carers leave or some other type of paid special leave?

When a an employees wife had a c-section, I paid him as careers leave (he was happy to use the personal leave and then take extra time as annual leave).

In the meantime, I knew this wouldnt end well, just by looking at the chair in the shower.

Man makes hilarious complaint to IKEA – now thousands are laughing at the embarrassing incident

I hope he/she has a speedy recovery and is home soon.

My mum has been in hospital since Friday, suggested earlier in the stay after fall from fainting that a pacemaker may be required, earlier in the week she had some tests done which confirmed that a pacemaker will need to be fitted. The fitting is scheduled for this afternoon.

Seems like fitting a pacemaker is pretty straight forward nowadays, sedated and not a general anesthetic. and is done within about 1-2 hours.

Hopefully is out of hospital tomorrow(Friday)
