I had a phone call from my car dealer, asking if Im interesting in selling my Subaru as they have a bulk buyer in Qld who wants to purchase my particular model.

Strange sales pitch to get me to buy a new car, my car is only 2yrs old.

Well that's one way to fix the scratches! (See if they'll throw in a new pair of shoes for you.:) )

Apple were trying to upsell people to the new Iphone 7 recently, and offering like about a 1/4 of the price of a new phone,

Thanks but no thanks.

Wasn't sure where to put this, here or on Facebook.

Was reminded on Facebook today about the murder of a student in my year at school, 30 years ago, which I think has more effect on me now than it did 30 years ago.

Originally thought the girl was unlucky, maybe staying out late wasn't a good thing but thinking more about it, sometimes you never know what may come up in life.

I resprayed my Commodore in 1999. It looked brand new. Within 18 months you couldn't tell it has had a respray.

New bumper bar on the Ford a few years back. Looks like the original bumper again.

People just don't care. They don't know how to park and careless when opening doors. Very sad. I refuse to buy a new car. Have had a good run with this $4500 purchase. Will buy second hand again.

When they respray the car do they respray everything that had the old paint - including engine bay and remove trims to spray behind the trims?

My friend has had her little sports car resprayed quite a few times.

I once reversed into it as she had it parked across my lawn.

Me: Im so sorry! I didnt see it! (its low/tiny and I didnt have a camera on that car)

Her: Everyone that hits my car says that.

Sometimes the little things annoy you.

I am seeking to purchase a pair of business shoe laces, thin and 60 cm long. Can't find them in a supermarket anywhere so I tried a shoe repair stall. The price $4!!

At that price I'm still looking.

Sorry is that too expensive?
For $4 is it worth looking elsewhere?

There is no bulk buyer in Qld who wants your particular model. They just want a transaction. Car dealers make money every transaction. Maybe they are just short of their sales target?

My husband is attending the SMPTE expo at Darling Harbour and I told him to have a nice lunch because tonight will be a simple chicken broth and dumplings, thinking he will grab sushi or a kebab....

Tried Spotlight or Dimmeys?

Around $2 in Woolies. However they are having supply problems due to the recent fire in Coolaroo. Expect everything to be back to normal soon.

So youre going to waste your time going from store to store, to save $2. *checks profile, expecting it to be JohnK*

Not yet, I am buying them in anticipation of the current laces snapping so hopefully they can wait until I am going near one of these stores. Definitely not making a special trip for them.

Spotlight currently has a half price fabric sale. Buy a metre of canvas or stronger fabric, undo the threads, spin yourself new shoelaces!

You will have laces to spare with all those threads :)

You are ahead of me I only buy shoelaces after the current ones break. I can plan FF points usage months in advance but couldnt be bothered with shoelaces........

Best laces I ever bought were for my hiking boots.

I went to Mountain Design, where they sell climbers rope, and picked a very thin/shoelace thickness rope, bought a couple of metres, hot-knifed the end and those laces lasted longer than the boots, which was about 8 years.
