Love insurance companies.

Happily take your money but when it comes to paying out they try to screw you every way possible.

I've had a few successful claims. They do require multiple pieces of evidence though.

Or IRC as it may be, back in my day ;)

I have a staff member like that, drives me insane! Not reading your emails properly is not an excuse.

And today even though I've explained I'm overseas they've rung me three times. My phone is either on silent or flight mode so I'm not answering them.

It's not just the multiple pieces of evidence. It's the arrogance of we can do whatever we want.

Westpac Black card TI paid out $24000 for my knee op and associated costs in Vienna one Christmas. Can't complain about that. YMMV.

To be fair, we get a lot of email. Prioritising what to read and processing a lot of info in a short amount of time is an imperative skill these days, but it is either a skill that is very much lacking and/or there is significant pushback to the idea of having all this email.

Doesn't help when we palm people off with, "Can you just email me?" Add one to the pile. Phone now is relegated to emergencies, lack of computer access and putting someone on the spot. Phones don't keep permanent records unlike an email trail, plus people talking on the phone these days can be atrocious.

At work I maintain not only email contact, but I also contact one person almost solely via SMS/mobile and a team on Slack. Some stuff is not put into emails and can only be accessed on the online portals / repositories (near impossible on a mobile device).

Sure. But don't then bother me overseas because email wasn't read. Esp last minute as this issue was.

Boss just told me to arrange a lunch for 35 people and they all have to pre-select their meals. To a lunch they dont even know they are invited to yet at a restaurant that doesnt know we are coming and I have to have this locked in by 11am.

Oh joy.

I've had to do some crazy stuff for my job, but never something quite that last minute....

I once had to have a didgeridoo waterproof packed and air dropped to a boat that was sitting in the Capricorn & Bunker group, off the GBR, at a days notice.

Yip ... and with their basic hamburgers currently on loose change at $1, you can by 2.5 each ... catering the lot for under $100.

Even better get the Maccas App. Save your order into the app. Once you at at Maccas put in the order via the app. Don't have to queue and repeat order at counter
Note the Maccas App will only let you put in the order when you are at the Maccas location

Use Amex for more FF points

MacDonalds have pre-ordering I'm told. :)

Aami are fantastic and basically forced me to take a cheque for roof damage from blocked and broken gutters even though I hadn't fixed the gutters.

AAMI home were great.

AAMI motor were a complete debacle and I'm actively looking for alternatives (after 20 years with AAMI Motor).

Oh really? I have had nothing but good luck with Aami motor insurance, only needed it once and I wasn't at fault but it was fixed within 10 days and Aami was pestering the body shop for updates.
My partner, on the other hand, has had a fairly horrible experience with RAC wa.

It is all subjective at the end of the day really.
