View from our room, here at the Melbourne airport Parkroyal.

Haven't eaten since breakfast so just had a awesome burger at the bar.

When do you fly our? I get in on QF38 at about 0930 if you want to cross paths briefly in the QF dom J lounge for coffee.

Thanks but we're flying VA domestic and boarding approx 10 Sunday!

Just woke up from a nice 8hr sleep, very comfy beds at the Parkroyal. Much nicer than the Stamford at Sydney.

Was just pulling out pages from my travel planning notebook.

Realised that had I gone away in July as I had planned, the itinerary I had put together to be booked had me on that EY flight on 15 July

What happened to the flight? I don't remember any major incidents but I'm not a huge follower of that sort of news.

With this sort of sound proofing, I would happoly live opposite a airport. It's interesting, watching the coming and goings, wondering what is the person's story for travelling today.

So.... Bolt just ran his last individual 100m and finished 3rd. Lots of booing for Gatlin (USA).

This is Philip. Philip is returning his car hire and is arguing with the attendant that as Melbourne Airport Corp does not have a petrol station on the returning side of the airport road, then he shouldn't have to pay for returning his car needing fuel.

Philip thinks berating a young person will work for him and he finally throws his keys inside the car and yells, Any charges on my card will be disputed so don't even f'ing try.

Philip isn't wrong about the lack of petrol station on the drive into the airport but Philip should just either drive around the block to the bp near the exit or suck it up. Yelling at the employee for doing their job correctly is not on.

Denali and Mr Denali left our contact details incase he complains to the manager.

BTW. We didn't fill up for the same reason and told the person it wasn't an issue/was expected because we're lazy.

Petrol is cheap around MEL. Could have got more Velocity points.

Note the airport servo normally sells fuel at a few cpl more than others in the general area do; still not the $2+ per litre rental companies sting.

(And looking at that map, 8¢ per litre more than what my local is currently selling at.)

South East seems to be the cheapest now. Some cheap fuel around Carlton at the independents. Retail price hasn't been under Gate (wholesale) price for a while now. 103c~ v 110c~.

I like GoGet's idea. When you return the car they only ask that it is 1/4 full for the next person and there is a fuel card provided.

Jan and John in the lounge... They missed their flight to Maroochydore and now have to wait for the next flight. John is asking for a beer and sitting away from his wife. Jan not happy either.

Meanwhile, this is Mr Denali. Mr Denali is highly agitated that the swab test paper thingy is being used on multiple people before being tested. He's upset that he could be associated with a positive result by association. Mr Denali doesn't get upset by much so I'm puzzled by his reaction.

This is poor Marjorie. She flew to Melbourne for the theatre and literally got hit by a bus! She'd going home today and her phone hasn't stopped ringing. Leg in a brace, arm in plaster, wrist has been operated on and she still has hospital tag on her wrist.

No idea how she'd going to sit in her seat.

Edit. Poor Marjorie is in row 3,hopefully she will be ok as she looks really banged up.

Maybe he is hiding something?

Good, God. I can tell I'm on a Tasmanian flight. How do some of these people get through life! Between the burping, yelling and gross behavior!

Currently watching Stevo sitting in a massage chair, moaning like he's getting a $20 special in Thailand. Sandra isn't much better. She paid $6.50 for a Muffin and is complaining very loudly about the price and size and how to hung over she is. Feel like tapping her on the shoulder and telling her about the lounge, where all the muffins and booze is free.

You're right about that. last Mon in Levin NZ it was $1.75 per litre. A short time later at WLG it was $1.90
