Are you implying that religion needs to redefine it's belief structure? Interesting concept.

LOL. Yes it absolutely needs to refine it's structure but probably not in the way you are implying.:)

And despite the ravings of the member for Warringah, "marriage" is really nothing to do with religion even thought it has been appropriated by it. It's all about but male property rights.

Enjoyed it ... but where's Saturn et al ...

Yes! The program implied there would be a second program but I see mention. It was more an homage to the Voyager mission team while they were still alive i feel.:)

One can find 'similar' videos on line however through NASA and JPL etc.

Walk into train carriage this morning and the first thing that catches my eye is candy wrapper on seat. Is it really that difficult?

Well at least it didn't have candy in it and it was stuck to the seat.
Wasn't stuck to seat so picked it up and put in bin.

The general care attitude is at its lowest? The number of single travellers sitting in the 4-seaters on full trains with feet up on seats is amazing.

That awkward moment when the hotel delivers a bottle of sparkling white on ice with pride... And we don't drink booze.

Do they serve chocolates?

There were chocolates on the bed when we arrived but hubby ate those already but that's it.

View from our room. Wonder now much this room costs Dec 26th.

No no. I appreciate Serfty's comments that legislating for same sex marriage may not necessarily be straight forward, you could legalise it but religious bodies could simply circumvent the law by saying they dont recognise it and refuse to perform the ceremonies.

But in a way i think that's stage two.. religious orhanisations already have certain exemptions from the discrimination act, perhpas we dont need to get caught up in changing that as well at this point in time. Legalising same sex marraige would allow civil marriage, and the task of tackling religious opposition could be dealt with later, if it eventuates.

I hate writing job applications, especially max 400 words per criteria times five plus resume.

Still all done now and 23 hours ahead of the closing time. So I can save it and review it tomorrow before submission. After finding the inevitable errors it will be done in a timely manner.

All being well back to work on Thursday night after the latest flu.
Good luck. Is this the job you started applying for a few months ago?

That's a lot of fraudsters caught in one place. And a lot in Fiji for that matter.

I guess... human rights doesn't "discriminate", i.e. everyone is entitled to a fair trial.

Would your opinion be the same if, suppose, the fate of these criminals was summary execution with no trial? (Not saying they wouldn't deserve that, but a shame that they would go first before other notable criminals who would be rather more deserving)

Yes well, the morning after the night before and I'm feeling a bit more level-headed :p I assuming this won't be summary execution... but anything else let 'em have it! These scammers ruin lives, so sad.

Awkward? You could accept the bottle and gift to someone?

Just like the bottle of red I won at golf a few weeks ago will go to my brother in law in Thailand next trip.

Any opinions on "Defence Health" private insurance? First glance it looks pretty decent. https://www.defencehealth.com.au/he...gclid=CMH7_vebx9UCFdUGKgodSfgKKA&gclsrc=aw.ds

Currently forking out $617 / month ..... top cover with DH is < $400 / month. Devil is always in the detail!
We have used Defence Health for years and have no issues at all. I know lots of people who use them and everyone seems happy with them.

They have an awesome Smart phone app for when you need to make a manual claim. At well under $400/month it's a no brainer.

The Farthest on ABC tonight was outstanding. Go watch on iview if you missed it.

On the Voyager missions, arguably one of mankinds greatest scientific journeys. Wonderful interviews with the original folks from JPL. Such an achievement.

I sorta enjoyed it, but got sick of the discussion on the bloody record! I kept thinking "show us the photos of the moons, not the *&!%$$ sound of people saying 'Hi' in various languages."

Enjoyed it ... but where's Saturn et al ...

Yeah, what happened to the rest of the mission?

Desperately working at the moment to get a book out to the printers by the end of the month. After 5 years, why does it always come down to days?

Editor doing a fantastic job, but I could do without 15 minute discussions on the phone on whether "1,000" should be written like that, or "1000". The style manual says "1000" but historians write "1,000". We haven't resolved that one. After that, we move onto a discussions such as whether "ibid" is "ibid" or "ibid." or "ibid." Apparently this turns on whether the Latin is written whole (in which case its italicised without a full stop) or as an abbreviation (in which case its not italicised, and comes with a fill stop).

If an archive source doesn't publish its suggested format for citing their documents, do we follow the local state archive format, or do what we like? That's good for about two cups of coffee, time wise.

Don't get me started on which type of bracket to use.

On the positive side, the Governor has just agreed to do the launch. :)

<snip>

So reread it and found and corrected the inevitable errors etc which is why I always like to put it aside for 24 hours.

Go to submit it and find it has been extended for 24 hours! I'm not waiting, there will be a new lot tomorrow so I'm happy and in it goes.

We're going to stay in Hobart and day trip from here but not too far, a very relaxed schedule, or no schedule more like it.

I have thousands of dollars in booze at home, don't need to cart a cheap sparkling all the way home to sit on a rack. I need to find a randy couple in the elevator and gift it to them but that would be creepy.
