I reckon a few of us do ;). Better than that game they call Rugby League where all they do is stick their heads (and other extremities it seems  ) up others backsides and grovel in the dirt like we did as kids <running for cover>

Why is it that within 12 hours of replacing something you've been looking for, for over a month, you then find the original?

You just dont understand the value of bonding accrued in a close proximity male-male touchy feely game.

Though as a youngster I played real football not aerial ping pong.
Soccer.

The worst thing is when you see something but not need it and then a few days later need it but cannot find it.

Well yes. But the reason why soccer doesn't really take off in Australia as much as it could is those nancy boys who roll around in agony, get the free (?) and carried off the ground then a couple of minutes later are back on again injury free. Aussies don't do that.

They could simply have charged you $7.30 and included the sauce.

Then all the non-sauce eaters would complain of having to pay for something they dont want.

When was the last time you watched AFL?

Well, saw several matches over the weekend. Yes, there are a couple of tankers but the players in the teams that matter aren't. ;). Quite the opposite.

You gotta love this country. You can't have any sort of sport discussion without fans of various codes getting into each other.

I love footy, and football. For different reasons.

I don't really care for league, and I don't understand rugby at all, but I don't need to belittle the two either.

Can't we all just enjoy what we enjoy?

One of the reasons it hasn't taken off is the media. Lots of vested interests in the AFL and bad TV deals shunting the sport to Pay TV. Plus people controlling Soccer from Sydney have also usually been dodgy more interested in little thiefdom.

Seen plenty of broken legs in Soccer. Even CTE in older Soccer players using the old leather balls.

I just successfully redeemed a US domestic flight for the morning of Xmas Eve, which would otherwise have cost $500 AUD cash. Flight time of two hours. Absolutely crazy!

I really needed this flight to make it to a family Xmas do. Gotta love it when you suddenly see award availability just when you need it the most, and at peak season no less! ;)

The same could be said for discussions about SYD/MEL, politics, religion, Merlot......

I enjoy all sports, it's just comments like that that irk me. For the record, wasn't there a recent statistic suggesting that the most participated sport in the country is the round ball game (This is more directed at Pushka).

You can't say that Australian sport fans aren't passionate.

Netball maybe. :p
Can you tease out those statistics? Probably more kids play soccer at school. But that might change now girls can have a career in Aussie Rules. It would be interesting to look at the statistics of adults playing soccer versus AFL. Given all the local Australian Rules footy clubs where adults play, the numbers playing may change. I don't know any of son's friends who played soccer. All of them played Aussie rules. Some played Rugby Union. None played league.

(PS GarretM. While I don't like rugby league it's nothing against those who do. As long as I don't have to watch it. No need to take it so seriously. I sure as heck don't. It's a joke Joyce)
