Iceland, population c350,000 has made the soccer World Cup finals. Australia I think needs to beat Syria to qualify.

I know soccer is the 3rd or 4th football code here, but really ...

The Union team and cricket squat are easy-beats. We are in a bad way!

I would have been happy to sell the feijoas, I just didnt appreciate people trespassing and stealing them.

I grew up on an orchard and we were on a main(ish) road. No one in our row of 8 properties had fences - more trees before a ditch and then the verge/ road. We'd frequently encounter people parked on the road side and on our properties helping themselves to fruit off the trees. That was our family income!

First toll fine received. $14.56 one-way! That $10 administration fee can be very expensive.

Lesson learned the hard way.

Bloody hell that Socceroos match was agony. Much like the whole campaign thus far really.

They look better when they are trying to score, a bit like the first 5 minutes of the last session.

Other than that, they will be lucky to make it to the big dance this time around.

My two Perth based sons were there at the soccer last night. We just stayed home and watched it on tv.

When we were looking at houses recently, there was a deceased estate and the house was a time warp to the 60s. Had original oven/stove and bathroom.

I said, paint, carpet and new kitchen and bathroom and it would be OK. Agent said no, it could be rented out next week as is. Blew our minds and what tripped us over to sell a house one street away as is. I told my husband that renting out as is was going into slum lord territory (last tennants did damage to house) and if I wouldnt live in it, I wont let someone else live in it either.

On another real estate nightmare venture again this afternoon. Found a lovely place last night but just out of their budget. Shame.

Bank phones me, gives me name and I burst out laughing, very loudly, and it took me a good 30 seconds to stop laughing and explain my reaction to their query.

Call will get saved on some server somewhere.

Someone may choose your call at random to do an SQA review and may laugh along with you or just ignore the laughter and get to the important bits they need to review.

Their name?

Driving home this arvo when a pram rolled onto the road with a baby strapped in it. Parents were completely oblivious. Fortunately the van in front of me saw, braked, and alerted them with his horn. Could have been far worse....

I love it when the bank (allegedly but probably actually) calls me on a Saturday from a 'No caller ID' number and then asks me some ID questions. The first time I told them that I would have to identify them and asked them questions about the bank. Couldn't answer, so I hung up.

When they called again the following Saturday I told the caller they were scammers and to F-off and hung up.

Got a call from my relationship manager the following week querying why I was being un-co-operative. I told him that I had no calls from the bank, only scammers who refused to identify themselves. I asked him if he would divulge his personal info to a cold caller with no phone ID. of course he said no, he wouldn't. I haven't received a call like that since.

Speaking of banks, I walked into one this week and asked what their current cash rates were. The teller told me they didn't have that information but would I like to make an appointment. I went next door. o_O

I would have told relationship manager some ID questions would need to be answered to prove s/he was who s/he says s/he is

I had a similar call from a bank a couple of years ago. Called my mobile and asked if I was rogerkambah. Then wanted me to ID myself. Answer was Well you just called me on my personal number. Asked them for ID and number to call back. Oh can't do that due to privacy conditions. At this point we had reached an impasse. I hung up but didn't hear any more, so it can't have been that important, or may indeed have been a scam.

They don't seem to understand why at least some of their customers are a bit savvy and reluctant to give out info to cold callers.
