My sister in law just posted a photo from her workplace.

They have real reindeer on site!

And creepy old guys in elves suits playing musical instruments.

How did you go? Are most things snapped up?

Nah got rid of a few things, but a big chunk still left behind. Some of that will go to the Salvos or similar.

I have to put the big ticket items on Gumtree. My guitars and fishing kayak. :(

I note Scoot is adding Berlin to its long haul destinations. Obviously this means very little to most on here, but I am very interested in this.

Flights to start in second half of 2018, and it'll take that long for us to be close to financially positioned to do it as well. But for me it's definitely agreeable.

I think the same people who programmed the computer modeling for the weather bureau have also fiddled with the algorithms determining the third umpire reviews in the cricket.

But the reviews were consistent:)

Yeah, consistently poor. No way was that first one not going to hit the stumps. A couple of years ago we knew someone who was involved in this production. Seemed rather random, GI-GO.

Anything special about the guitars?

My husband has fenders that are 50yrs old. When we were in LA earlier this year, we went to Norman's Rare Guitars and he finally got that classic Hendrix Flying V I wouldn't let him buy when we were at the Memphis Gibson factory (he bought a Les Paul).

Next trip to NY will include side trip to Martin.

Only that they're mine. A custom Epiphone Les Paul (budget couldn't stretch to a real Gibson), and a Maton acoustic.
I sold my 1996 American Std Stratocaster almost two years ago. That was a painful separation after almost 20 years together.

I could never afford a vintage instrument, and I simply no longer play enough to justify it either. Despite the recent addition of some nursery rhymes for the daughter. She by the way wants a blue guitar she says. I told her she has to wait till she's six. Mind you she likes drums too.

Perhaps later in life I might be able to afford an older model. They never go out of style.

Hubby has a old Epiphone, bass I think.

Fender in Corona use to do factory tours. My husband was practically giddy when we went there. He bought one there as well.

He bought his Les Paul when the exchange rate was awesome. Gibson is closing their Memphis factory as well soon.

I told him he needed more colour as he likes the natural wood look, so he bought a green shade Lucille.

Oh, he also has a Maton. A dreadnought my memory.

Which is why the new house design, he gets the entire upstairs, for his toys.

My Strat was a beautiful Inca silver with maple fretboard. I reckon maple has more bite than rosewood if that makes any sense.

The Les Paul is black with gold hardware. Quite nice in itself.

You need to be very sure of colour before buying.

Husband prefers mahogany and/maple as well.

He's has a custom fender and met the master builder when we were there, he was working on the body and showed us the progress.

That was Hubbys 50th birthday gift to himself.

Will have to give hubby the link. Not that I should encourage him.

You never know, maybe in couple of years you might be able to treat yourself.

I have to start using Gumtree. A number of things to get rid of but I'm not so confident about having strangers coming around to look at items.

Last week was a disaster food planning week so today I was busy making lasagnes, quiches, prepping salmon for tomorrow etc.

We went from not having much take out for 9mths to take out 5 days in a row.

@cove - what is the drain cleaner? I have a recurring problem here and nothing has worked to date.

Slight moment of alarm on my flight across Europe today (yesterday?) - glance out the window and all I see is the undercarriage of a Eurowings plane! Could clearly read it as they went above us. I didn't expect to see a plane that close!
