I thought Adelaide fixed their power problem? Good luck with the fridge food!
That’s what our Premier keeps spending our money and telling us. Weather is benign right now too. No storm etc.

I think Burnside Village shopping is out too. Fix time is currently in 2 hours. Given they don’t know what’s caused it that’s a bit curious.

Good times....

How could you not know what a pineapple donut is!

RUSH HOUR: These canteen prices from 1978 are crazy

A man named Barry Porter has shared a school canteen price list from 1978 and people are losing their minds over how affordable everything is.
Mr Porter shared the image of the old menu with ABC Mid North Coast who posted it on their Facebook page.
The list includes fan favourites like pies and sausages rolls for 35 cents and under, along with a good old flavoured milk for 27 cents.
There are a few items that some people are not too sure about — who knew that pineapple donuts were a thing?
But overall the menu has people wishing they could be transported back to 1978 just so they can load up on sausage rolls.

In context. I was employed in 1977 as a first year Uni Graduate and my annual salary was $10,000 which was excellent.

Oh goodie. Power blackout right now before I had a shower and washed my hair for work Christmas lunch. Fridge is groaning with hams, turkey and prawns in freezer for Christmas Eve. Better come back soon. Gotta love that battery we paid millions for. What a waste.
So I mentioned Battery here. Check out what ad just popped up on news.com.au page feed. They mock me.

As a 15YO I was employed as a casual worker in the early 70's packing school books over summer - my daily pay was $4.50 !

Those pies are about avge pric for then...

New avatar? or am I just not observant. Rounding of image done by AFF makes it look like a spaceship port-hole :)

The RBT usually sets up at Milton on Milton Road opposite the tennis courts at the bottom of the hill. No chance of escaping anywhere as you come over the hill there is nowhere to go. The RBT closes one lane and everyone is breath tested.

The RBT lights create a Disco effect in my apartment making sleep a little more difficult.

We were lucky enough to get an all stops (three stops) part commercial, part private flight yesterday:)

The last sector was Belize city airport to Belize international....

I think some people assume we were on the same pay as we are today. We didn’t have tuck shops at school much those days if at all. Buying lunch say a pie was restricted to Monday’s as the bread was too stale because - what? Shops were closed by lunchtime Saturday. Banks closed at 2.30 on Friday’s.

I miss the days of no PCs, no mobile phones, early closing of most businesses.

Very peaceful.

Imagine if it was not you in that seat but another middle aged man who's intentions were not so pleasant. Guarantee in those circumstances you'd be here praising the person who expressed a concern.
We can't make the assumption that every single middle aged male is a paedophile.

Yes it's nice that people are looking out for each other but we need to make accurate observations before reporting them. You can't just walk out of your seat to exit the train and see a baby strapped into a pram looking happy but mum sleeping and assume the baby is neglected or in any sort of trouble.

Most people assume I am my daughters grandfather. I laugh. I don't try to correct them when they've made the wrong observation.

Now fast forward 3-4 years and I'm travelling with my daughter alone on train and someone reports to station staff that a balding middle aged man is alone with a 4-5 year old girl. That is seriously sticking the beak where it does not seriously belong.

I guess in the world of what if, what if your wife had fainted and someone was concerned about her?

Tell yourself that the person who reported it had good intentions.

Not everyone is a pedo in hiding but its hot, your wife is slim, maybe they were concerned for her health.

Stupid question. Kangaroo Island forecast shows night at 15c, do we need jumpers?

Hubby will be wandering around the cabin, taking night photos.
