The totally off-topic thread

... a pointless debate or discussion with those who:
<snip>
* Say what science can and can't do or 'knows' when demonstrably they know little about the topic
;

And since science has no proof what so ever I'll stick with what makes sense to me.

Ho-hum ...

Ah yes. I keep forgetting that science has the answer for everything. By using theories.

What was that I said? ;)

Arrrrgh! I did it, didn't I? <Bangs head against wall.>

That’s what science is. Theories that later on are proved wrong or right.

No, not really :) . People put forward theories. Some are good; some are bad; some are loopy. 'Science' on the other hand is a technique or a methodology (some might say a philosophy) to rigorously investigate something, like a theory or an observation. Ideas come up; some ideas get supported; some ideas get disproved; some get put into doubt pending more work. But the reasons why, in each case, should be open, testable and contestable.

Yes IMHO pointless that you have a need to share your beliefs as above with us so often.
Interesting that you feel the need to try and correct me each time. I simply stated an observation. Leave it alone if you don't agree with it.

I had a nice pork chop today after an awful game of golf.

I don’t agree and am finding it quite interesting and informative.
Interesting contrast to the post above.

I have a lot of questions and very few answers. I guess that's what philosophy is about.

My S5 Vf mobile hasn't downloaded any emails since Wednesday night and daughter's since Jan 5. Have checked settings but can't see anything amiss. Even initiating manual sync doesn't work.

Anyone rlse have Vf problems like this?
Complete Restart? That fixes most of the iPhone issues

The Haigh milk choc Berry is really good.

Actually, happily surprised by how good Heighs is. Wonder if they do white choc.
Would you like me to go to the Haighs factory which is three minutes away from where I live? I might even do a factory tour and post pix! They give great samples.

That's not quite right.

This is the off topic thread. I don't want a scientific debate.

I believe in the afterlife. I believe in dejavu. And I strongly believe in the evil eye.

I know what science thinks of each of the above and I don't care. When I'm under an evil spell and can't breathe and painkillers and Xanax doesn't help either I don't care what science thinks or how science explains it. The only think I care about is how I'm going to get better right now and how I can detect the evil spell earlier next time.

I find other people's experiences intriguing. Others just get their kicks by putting people down who do not think the same as them.

And no not you.

That's not quite right.

To seemingly not be educated is one thing; to continually parade it is something else.

But that’s the issue. Your observations and obsessions seem better suited for somewhere other than AFF when it’s non scientific rants. Pork chops are different but why do you need to share your eating of a pork chop on AFF? Facebook, Twitter perhaps?

Sadly it didn't work. Wife's Vf connected iphone working happily, so Vf can check the SS out as it's still on plan.
Strange. Try deleting the email accounts (note the details), reboot phone and re-enter the email and get phone to verify connection.

That is a quite self indulgent observation Imo.
I suggest that you have no idea what others may choose to read and that the subject material objected to presents as entirely appropriate for the location it is posted.

The OP may have a "different" view of his world , but it is a not uncommon perspective that is better understood than denigrated.

Walking through the “main street” of Whistler yesterday, it was very cold, around -10 and snowing quite heavily. There was snow and ice everywhere when I caught part of a conversation a guy was having on his phone...

“...yeah I’m looking for an ice machine...”

Made me giggle.

Sending my Vivofit 3 back because some of the pixels on the screen died.

I see Vivofit 4 is coming out, wait or replace with #3? Current #3 price is the same as what the #4 price will be.

Im still lazy on the steps but the red line of laziness is what makes me get out of my seat every hour to move a little bit so I need something.

Edit: Found #3 at the GoodGuys at discount, so save $80 in old version of wait for new?

Well no, actually as this is the totally off topic thread I would think that JohnK's observations are right at home here, especially as many other posters have made similar comments.

Didn't look at AFF much over the weekend and too busy for it, but also my 7 year old Sony Laptop is on its last legs, the video board started with green last week and over the weekend it just died, I was able to plug it into the TV via HDMI cable to check things and transfer the data to a portable USB drive. 1TB for $79 was cheap.

Looking at something that is 15inches.and Lenovo is the front runner.

I think Lenovo has an agreement for a lot of NSW Govt supplies so must be doing something right (or did they just go cheap?)

I bought a Lenovo to replace my old Sony a year or so ago, and I still hate it. So many little things that the Sony did better (like auto backlighting of keys, depending on the light; a SD card slot; better travel feel on the keys ...)
