That’s what science is. Theories that later on are proved wrong or right.
No, not really . People put forward theories. Some are good; some are bad; some are loopy. 'Science' on the other hand is a technique or a methodology (some might say a philosophy) to rigorously investigate something, like a theory or an observation. Ideas come up; some ideas get supported; some ideas get disproved; some get put into doubt pending more work. But the reasons why, in each case, should be open, testable and contestable.
