Because you are travelling "west" (timezone wise) and daytime.

The home trip is "east" and overnight.
Travelling slightly "west" but mainly North. Next flight is EK flight at 2:35am BNE-SIN followed by 3K flight SIN-BKK and then in March it could well be the SQ flight CBR-SIN which is another overnight flight.

East to West is much easier than West to East.

MrP also carries backpack and briefcase and uses his pockets all the time.

Did anyone else get logged out overnight? All my devices (iphone, ipad and PC) all logged me out. Or is this some kind of message
Yes I got logged out on laptop-only device I use

I've gone straight to work a few times after arriving back from overseas that morning but my preference is to come back Friday/Saturday and have some rest before going back to work.

That's what man bags are for!

My friend works for Jamie Oliver. She also melted plastic trays in the oven a couple of months ago :)

Maybe the pockets/ no pockets is a generational thing? These guys all carry a bag of some description to the office.
Could be. Majority of work colleagues wear polos/t-shirts to office. I guess most don't have pockets.

I still struggle without a pocket.

My brother just rang to say that his wife's brother had died of a probable heart attack. That is sad enough for her family, especially his wife & children. (I would only see him once every three or four years so he was not a particular friend of mine).

However, what makes it even more confronting is that he died on a visit to the Falkland Islands. I haven't got the full story but I assume that he and his wife were on a voyage to the Antarctic. Anyway, it appears that his wife is now stranded on the Falkland Islands. I assume he was taken to the local hospital and the ship departed.

Apparently there are only a couple of flights a week from there and she may have to try to get on a military flight to London and then travel home to Perth. So not only has she lost her husband of some 40 years but has a horrendously complicated, and long, path to get herself and his remains back here.

I also hope they had adequate travel insurance.

As a follow-up. They were indeed on an Antarctic Cruise. The Falklands were the first stop and they were on an excursion to see penguins (West Falkland?) when it happened. He was taken by helicopter to the hospital on the main island but nothing could be done.

She was left behind when the vessel sailed and is now hoping to get a "lift" on the weekly RAF flight to the UK to be with their adult children back here. His remains will follow once the formalities are done - Coroners report etc.

The heartening thing that has come out of this is that the islanders and military personnel have been fantastic and have done everything possible to help and console her.

Thanks for the update OZ. It must be so distressing for everyone. Good to hear the Falklanders have been so supportive.

My office millenial is still jet lagged, after arriving Saturday morning. He also didnt come into the office yesterday, because of jet lag.

Would it be more accurate to say he didn't come in because he said he was jet-lagged?

Hey, the oldies will understand that, huh?
