Travelling slightly "west" but mainly North. Next flight is EK flight at 2:35am BNE-SIN followed by 3K flight SIN-BKK and then in March it could well be the SQ flight CBR-SIN which is another overnight flight.

Westbound flights are generally easier on the jetlag than eastbound for the reasons outlined above. But it may also have something to do with arriving 'at your destination'... you're excited, it's something new. The adrenaline is going, so to speak. Coming back home it's work, excitement has worn off (etc).

Maybe the pockets/ no pockets is a generational thing?

Is it also a Euro v Aussie/US thing? Most shirts in Europe - UK at least - don't have pockets. I've really only seen business shirts with pockets on sale in Australia and the USA (admittedly I haven't looked in Asia).

So sad Ozduck. You just don't think of such a possibility. But at my age it is always a chance hence we always have insurance.
Were they on the Silver Explorer? It was there about that time and always has the penguins in the Wesr Falklands as it's first stop.

I get most of my shirts in the USA and it is very hard to find the brands I buy with pockets.

I think you have hit nail on head. Adrenaline has a much bigger effect than jet lag.

My office millenial is still jet lagged, after arriving Saturday morning. He also didnt come into the office yesterday, because of jet lag.

If work-related travel then probably fair enough.

If not work related, IMO that's pretty poor not to present yourself in decent condition to work after overseas (personal) travel. Genuine illness aside (maybe s/he became sick whilst on leave although that would not seem to be what you are implying).

Did someone mention they dream in colour? I thought all dreams were black and white.

Not office related, Christmas European holiday for him. We told him that hes getting old :)

Our policy allows for travel time/day off and if someone is sick while on leave, if you provide a doctors certificate, we give back annual leave and deduct from sick leave.

Yep. It was a research project in Uni and the researchers (psychs) were investigating any correlation between dreaming in colour and left hand/right handedness.

Oh ok. I'm a natural left hander that is now ambidextrous and dream in black and white.

Having just woken from a nap in which I dreamt I had to pull all my clothes out of a toilet* I can confirm I dream in colour.

*My wife reckons my subconsciuos is saying my life sucks. I THINK she was joking.

I wish to announce that its still Christmas! (The sale of hot cross buns notwithstanding).

Today's post, first envelope opened. Letter from the hospital where I had a minor procedure last December; all costs covered by health fund except standard excess which I paid on admission. Letter tells me I'm due a $150 refund.

Second envelope opened. Letter from my business insurance broker. I cancelled a policy I no longer needed and got a refund cheque for abt $700.:)

Third envelope. Letter from tax office saying I no longer need to lodge BAS or PAYG withholding (due to closure of that particular business). :):)

Decisions, decisions ... the pub or the lotto agency?

You’ve had three lucky things so that’s done and dusted. Off to the Pub.

Congrats, Roo. Sounds like it should be invested in your next travel fund :)

In the meantime, Im trying to convince a customer they overpaid us by $180K. Who'da thought that it would be such hard work. I provided all the paperwork, dates, copies of docs to prove it.

Apparently walking into a glass door makes a lot of mess (and no, not me). Nice little OHS mess.

Ouch. Was the glass door frosted or had stickers at least?

I remember as a kid, sitting the hallway playing with my brother and for whatever reason, my head slammed backwards into the glass door and it shattered. Back then, I hate to think how much it cost my parents to replace (migrant/factory worker family).

I'm happy to provide bank details if you fail to convince them.
