Another fun day - flight cancelled and can't get on anything until now Sunday (was supposed to be home Thursday). Trains cancelled too so that's not an alternative option.........
Still stuck in Edinburgh? What hotel are you staying at? If you're into photography, would be a good use of time.

Edit. No laundry facilities?

The usual (Hilton Edinburgh Carlton) - I wonder if BA would cover the cost of laundry (they have said they will cover the room cost...), I guess there's always travel insurance as well.

I have bookings there next month, just get your laundry done.

I hate going home with dirty laundry.

See if Radison Blu spa is open down the road, go have a massage

Flashback it must be difficult to be snowed in since Thursday. In Perth it is dawn with the sun coming up shortly. We are having a mild summer here and of course we call it autumn from March 1st instead of March 21st/22nd.

You could say that! Hotel is running out of food too, running a reduced menu now. Not many shops open, in fact only thing I found open last night was bars and restaurants, but restaurants also had issues with food availability. I might order a room service pizza.

My office complex now has a men's only cosmetic beauty place and hubby is booked in for a facial.

He walked in for a brochure and said, "my wife said no botox or fillers, whatever those are".

I don’t know if anyone has noticed this: ‘It is nothing more than racist theft’

Politics aside , this will make life interesting going forward.
I wonder if we will see the same global condemnation and isolation of South Africa from sporting events etc as we did in the lead up to the fall of apartheid? Me thinks not.

I just wonder how much thought has gone into evaluating the ramifications of this action by the SA Government.
Who will want to visit there now?
Second thoughts now.
There will be few complaints from certain quarters - isn’t taxation another form of property confiscation?

........

Fresh Krispy Kreme delivery to the office makes a happy team... followed by quite time due to sugar crash :)

I made a Crust Pizza delivery to workplace.
Many were sluggish afterwards. Productivity down. The sluggishness was worse when another staff member got KFC sometime back.

Did KFC recover it’s supply issue. Many Brits were as apoplectic as some in USA January 2017 over this when it did happen

Wowser. £25 laundry charge for a few pairs of underwear, socks and my jeans.
Just. Do. It!

I never begrudge paying for laundry... Well except for that one time in Lyon, when my husband's Big W Rio's were replaced by some Frenchmens fancy European thong briefs. Poor husband, never got his Rio's back and had to buy overpriced underwear when we got to Paris.

Boy, you wouldn't like to be opening my suitcase when I get home! I do a 'clothes countdown' to time my laundry at home as accurately as possible :)

That's the reason for the happening referred to above. During the trip, I'm a 'wash clothes in the bath' guy most of the time, but do get hotel laundry done in selective (ie cheaper) places. And yes, I do pour a kettle of boiling water over the bath when done!

A bit of irrelevant trivia:
The equinox this year is 20 March 2018.

I dont mind and often do the occasional small hand wash but if its a hotel with laundry facilities - im sending that out. The Santiago Holiday Inn at the airport had same day service so we arrived about 10am and I had laundry sent out within an hour :)

Laundry is in my budget, I refuse to spend thousand (or save thousands with reward seats/upgrade ect) and spend my free time doing the laundry.

Scotland trip we have a few B&B/cottages and it seems they have laundry facilities (in the kitchen?) so my Tesco click & collect order includes a small tub of laundry pods. I dont like travelling with dirty laundry.

Yep, kitchen is pretty common over here!

I’ll pay extra to be up the front of airplane but won’t pay a “per piece” laundry charge. Everything can be washed in one load. I don’t do whites when travelling.

Singapore Marina Bay Sands, paid $15 to have a $10 tshirt laundered.

But when we go on Scuba trips, we take stuff that we dont plan on bringing back, even scuba gear.

We give it away to the workers/locals, its not torn or rubbish, just looking a bit worn or hubby tired of wearing it and would be thrown out at home but still has lots of wear in them. One trip, as we left the island the staff were waving goodbye on the beach, and there was about a dozen of them, all wearing hubbys tshirts and rugger shorts. Hubby to me: I hate to think which one is wearing my underwear!

Even old toothbrushes have value (used to service/clean boat and scuba parts).

One trip we were talking to the guys and said we left a pile of stuff (clothing, batteries, toiletries, cargo bag, crocs ect) and one of the guys walks into the area and says, "Its already gone". :)

But the underwear cant be washed with the tshirts! The tshirts cant be washed with the jeans!

No... just, no!
