The totally off-topic thread

I've been following the experts, Qantas, for so long. Can't get more deceptive than fuel surcharges added when fuel was high and increased when fuel got higher but then not reduced or totally removed when fuel was cheaper.

Charging a customer for plastic bags is such a stupid idea it is beyond belief. It has nothing to do with reducing the number of plastic bags in circulation. Woolworths could have gone with totally biodegradeable and included in your shopping bill. Instead they chose to sugar coat their blatant cash grab with caring about the environment. I remember something similar with Target a few years back but they did a backflip as it hurt business?

Every retailer here in SA charges for the bags. I was surprised last year when Coles in Melbourne were still providing them for free. This isn’t a battle you will win. Move on.

I still dont know why they are proposing to destroy/rebuild Homebush stadium when it functions well.

The reason they dont sell out every single week is because NRL/ARL/AFL/whatever does not engage the fans enough to put bums on seats.

I dont even go to the Bledisloe in Sydney anymore. $170pp for nosebleed seats, we fly to NZ to watch Aust V ABs now.

Politicians love building things they can attach a plaque with their name on it. Sports minister saying the 2 stadium rebuild is necessary so kids can be engaged in sport and combats obesity means they are running out of reasons. And we can rebuild and fund health and schools better. Really? sports minister if we could fund health and schools better why is it not funded better now?

Ever seen a under 15 play sport in one of those stadiums?

Slow cooker beef brisket today - havent done that for a while but its been a horrible food/dinner week this week so trying to do better.

That kind of came around to bite our SA Govt where it hurts with the new RAH. The opening was 6 months ago and election today. So you’d expect everything to be up and running well after that run in period. But in that time the Health Minister quit, it’s currently on 90 day notice to rectify or potentially lose accreditation, and it still has significant basic running issues. And then there are the $$$$$$$......

This seems messed up. The kid was crying at boarding BUT shes quietly sitting in her seat with her parents and the adults (FAs) are removing them from the flight.

The kid is quitely in her seat, strapped in while they are telling the parents they are being removed from the plane because the kid is a safety concern. WTF.

Father and upset two-year-old booted from flight

After the dog in the overhead situation, Im betting FAs are going to get more pax speaking up/filming.

Some people produce extraordinary results when life throws nasty things their way, instead of coughing and moaning and proclaiming "woe is me" and "why do these bad things always happen to me", and feeling sorry for themselves, they take life by the scruff of the neck and achieve things that others can only dream of.

Michael Milton is one such person, he is unstoppable, and a truly admirable person, a lot of people could learn from him, especially one on here!

Yep safety concern. But then put them on the next flight when the video went viral. What is it with these power trips from FAs in the USA?

I think the problem is some people just dont take a moment to regather and say, "Great. Shes settled and quite - great job mum and dad" and tell the captain that the situation is OK, can we request a slot to runway.

It seriously think it is time for a career change. Very sad. My daughter will soon be 2 and there could well be tamper tantrams along the way. Having people removed from flight is not the solution.

Daughter used to ride in the same bunch as him at times. Said he was great.

Husband says a guitar has strings but I'm guessing you're talking about violin, cello ect.

Usd to play the cello but it’s been a while.

I decided to stop regretting not learning it at school and have started lessons. Currently experiencing a very numb finger tip from first finger - I have a deep scar about a pinky width from the tip and I think that’s caused the numbness!

I did choir at school but that was in treble clef. So having to learn bass clef. I have a very process orientated brain so the notes/ strings are just obvious to me.
