But I want those photos on my iphone. People always say if there is a fire that they will always grab photos once family and pets are safe. I just have to grab my phone as it contains all my treasured photos. Its not baggage, it is my lifetime memories, all catalogued so I know where to find every photo.
But what if your phone crashed or was stolen? Are they in a cloud? Apple sheep love the Clouds :)

I do like the Rose gold though, seriously thought of it for my phone but they didnt have the larger GB size in that colour so went with boring black.

I use iPhone, but am far from an Apple geek - all the photos on my phone are synched to iCloud; all the applications, books and other stuff too, for that matter. I'm assuming you have gone from iPhone to iPhone, so why can't you just re-sync from iCloud?

They are also on a dedicated external drive I plug in when backing up the phone. I don’t like using the cloud so much. I prefer to feel, see and touch.

So I just walked into Optus and have a new iphone 8 Plus. I just couldn't go android. But the good news is that it is rose gold like my ipad. ;)
Now my punishment is that I have to update Itunes, update my old phone, back up my old phone, then transfer over 10,000 photos
Good to hear you didn't waver to the kiddie side. Updates and transfers are all very easy to do, Pushka. Do it with a desktop and iTunes or just use the iCloud backup / restore system.

I think the issue is that they are continually updating iTunes. So you think, I’ll just do a quick backup, only to get the message that iTunes needs to be updated. And the iPhone. Mega updates 250mb. So an hour later you are ready to do what you started out to do.

Anyways, no point complaining, it’s my choice I guess. I did have a play with the latest Samsung. It’s nice. Just getting too old to learn new tricks.

Thanks - that's interesting, I'll do #1 on the list, but all the rest I'm pretty much on top of ( or irrelevant, such as Facebook stuff). They missed one obvious one: put some translucent tape over your laptop camera, and the person-facing camera on your phone.
Hence the a amusement at this email...
