Hmmm.

Seems the clean up you performed the other day Lindsay has gone to waste. :(
No it hasn't.

I sunk a hole in the bowling green and have been practicing puts. :P

And I marked a target green on the roof-top carpark at the local Westfield Shopping Centre and use the bowling gree to practice 5 iron shots. Sorry about the divits  .

You mean a divot NM. Here I thought I was the only one to use a Westfield Shopping Centre as target practice for my golf game... but I use a 1-Wood and a couple of cars if they are unlucky enough to be under my ball as it bounces into the carpark...

I have the same problem with 1 woods and car parks at the 17th on a local golf course... :P

If I tried a 1 wood you would not have any grass left and lots of holes in the fence at ground level. A 5 iron is probably the longest club I can use to actually get the ball above knee height  .

After what seems like a really short holiday on one hand and a really long period away from AFF I've come back and must say that I'm really upset at the damage being caused by the golfers.

Lindsay did a big cleanup and then the golfers trashed the place and left divots everywhere :!:

Really bad form guys :!: :!:

NO, not at all. All we've done is turn it back into a sandpit.
:D

OK :!:

I'll play in the sand for a few days and then let you know my thoughts. :)

Any chance for an AFF golf day soon?

We better make sure that we pick a goat track and not a golf course as there may not be anything left of the golf course. :P

Makes no difference to my game whichever you play on.

Well, having been away a few days and come back to 3 pages of stuff to catch up on, I propose that the Inaugural AFF Sandpit Golf Challenge should go ahead.

I propose that JohnK, being the golf junkie, should be responsible for organising it (he has excelled at organising every race challenge so far) but I also propose that it not be played by any acceptable golfing rules known to humankind.

I suggest, that the rules be based on who hits the sand first and stays in there the longest, buckets and spades are perfectly accepatble golfing instraments, that we play in July at Victoria Park in Brisbane (a perfect example of a golf course and goat track in one). Alcohol be an integral part. Skill absolutely optional.

Takers?

Does everybody have to be on the same golf course :?:

No we can hold simultaneous events in each state in Australia. Honesty is the best policy.

We only require proof of the damage caused to the golf course, err goat track, before declaring the winner of the inaugural AFF goat track challenge champion. :P

Sounds good to me. :)

I know we are hardly ever serious, well most of the time anyway, but this sounds like a great idea. Perfect time of the year to get away from Sydney for a weekend and mini status run.

Anyone interested? If any interest send me PM. All we need is minimum 4 players, or not, and we are set.

Good thing you mentioned that skill was not required - when it comes to golf, I have absolutely no skill. And I am sure that my skill levels won't improve if alcohol is involved - but at least I may think I am improving.

Well, JohnK, now we have three (you, me and MetroAir)...if only we can get serfty up here. Vic Park is perfectly acceptable...

As my handicap, I'll even play left handed

I've had a few rounds at Nudgee GC with some work associates (employed at the Airport).

Oftern get interesting comments when I take Clubs over to 'Special Baggage'.

'Firm a July date and I'll see what I can do (not 5/6, 8/9, 16/17, 22/23). Of course, I must get furlough from SWMBO!

Playing Nudgee, we could only play on the South Course. As my closest course, I've played on it a bit an might have an unfair advantage.
