Sale is good! Im the same, I strip the bed, wash and remake bed, so I only have 2 sets for summer and 2 winter sheet sets. Once you find a fabric you like, you stick to it.

What I would really like is the manufactures to put a tag on the top or bottom, that says top or bottom, so I dont do the 3 corner sheet, redo sheet mambo every time I make the bed. Of course I could sew this on myself but I never get around to it. But the set I put on today didnt give me that grief so I guess my bed is super king?
Some of my sheets have this tag...

My mother sewed tags onto the top or bottom (short side) of her sheets but my SIL was being very helpful when she washed them and cut them off for her.
I have trouble with sheets fitting well. The last pair were DJs ones with a 50 depth which is good but the top is still a bit squeezy so I think I’ll try the next size up next time. Either that or I’ll just get flat sheets for the bottom as well. They are cotton which is lovely to sleep on but think they shrank slightly and they also need ironing. But then I do like the feel of ironed sheets.:)

I may have convinced hubby to wear a puffer vest, I told him that apparently the point of it is to help keep your core warm (with layering) but not have the bulk of down jacket sleeves.

Did you know they make puffer jackets for dogs?

This confuses me, does she have insurance or not? Why is she stressing about how much a CT scan costs, just get one and let insurance pay the bill.

Woman’s last photo before ‘biggest mistake’
It sounds like she is an ex-pat NZ so it would be health insurance which if it’s anything like here does not cover the full cost or treatment and leaves patients a big gap. We’ve just had a gap of nearly $10k for MrLtL.

So I tried to order some Euro today and as per usual, put it in hubbys name and his ID (drivers license) and have him pick it up at our local post office.

Apparently now the account/card used to pay for the funds must be in the same name as the person that picks it up. This is inconvenient, hes at the post office every day where I am not.

Yes. And I think one of our pups would love one
we are really mean and don’t use doggy jackets. When they had them on they were so warm that they used to amble around sniffing and having a great time, while we shivered in the icy winds. So we stopped using them and now we have a lovely run with them :). We will start using them again when they get a bit geriatric.

I didn’t even realise you could get extra deep fitted kings until I saw a comment on one of these threads. Now I am left with a dilemma. Do I throw out my not particularly old and quite expensive sheets, or continue the struggle?

When we get sheets we always measure Length width and depth of mattress . There are no standard sizes. Often the manufacturer skimp in dimensions.

its not that easy in the USA. I was talking to Master FM about this when he was out in April and I still don’t have my head around it. He has a very good health insurance cover via his employer (Google), but what it covers is very hard to say. Apparently you have hospitals that are “in area” and “out of area” and what you are covered for changes with that. Also apparently hospitals charge astronomical amounts and then you argue them down. It’s a sort of haggling system as far as I can tell. If you have good insurance they will do the haggling for you. Then you might have extensive copayments as well. I ended up telling Master FM if he ever developed a chronic illness he was probably better off just getting a plane home.....

Exactly why I don’t want to go down that path

Can't wait until Queensland starts the recycling centres. Supposed to be November but not sure if still going ahead.

The QLD CDS was due to start in July. It was pushed to November to allow time to see how the NSW CDS went once it was put into place. It wasn’t a smooth introduction - hence QLD delaying.

It was supposed to be a national CDS but once again the States (and Territorities) couldn’t work together.

Rhythmic Gymnastics - what exactly is the point of the dance with the hoola hoop?

Probably not much [point]. But it can be impressive when the right team is in action. I saw the Chinese team do a group floor exercise with the hoops, one gymnast collected all four (or is it five?) hoops in one hand and threw them at the same time... the hoops spread out at different speeds in the air and fell exactly in place in her colleagues' hands who were all spaced in a line about 3 metres apart from each other. Impressive throwing ability!

It does sound like there's some sort of gap.

For those who may be concerned about insurance in the USA there are overseas policies (buy via USA websites) that can just cover you for the time you are n the USA. This will cover a visit to the doctor (which can be expensive, but under any Aussie travel insurance excess), and medications at a pharmac_ (which can also be expensive). The cover is not expensive.

Why not wait until you are in Euro country? Exchange rate is awful in Oz.

I haven't tried it yet, but if you buy something in the ACT and take the empty to a site in Queanbeyan for instance, do you get any money back? Is NSW like SA where you have to pay a deposit, then get it back?

It's good business for some in the countries in Europe that have these schemes, although in Vancouver the boss told me that some of the returns places refuse to accept more than a certain number of containers in particular from 'professional' collectors.
