No you're not. It's called keeping busy; not a bad way to travel - keeps you (mostly) alert and awake, and doing something rather than letting time pass by. :)

I think that's a fine way to travel.

It's the D1/D2 tried and tested method to travel :p

I made it out to the Talisker distillery today. Not too bad a tour, but it really is a very small distillery (and they bottle off-site etc etc).

Now in Glasgow. I really am trying to cram too much into my quick Scotland trip!

I don't see anything wrong with trying to cram everything into your holiday, I think my current holiday is like that,
Dallas, Detroit, New York, Tampa, Washington DC and now Baltimore.

I am about ready to conk out with all this travel I have almost completed. What will be nice if Qantas give me my upgrade to business so I can sleep the whole way home.

I have taken lots of notes and a few photos so should be able to write up a nice trip report when I get home; well I be awake half the night when I am home so I will have plenty of time to write it.

I do love this line in my Qantas summary. :D

Additional Status credits required by 31 Jul 2010 to attain Platinum: 260:cool::shock:

I should have flown one of the JQ flight segments in Star Class. :(

There is one line I was thinking; your first million is the hardest, your 2nd million is so much easier; could you use that line to explain miles & Status Credits.

I will post in the relevant thread later but it is possible to meet airside at Suvarnabhumi airport as long as you do not go back through security for your gate. Landed at the same time as docjames (and lovely wife) on Sunday and I waited around at their departure gate but they must have gone back upstairs.

Ah, John, you should have texted me! We zoomed upstairs after arriving, hung around the shops for a bit, then hung about in the lounge, then headed to gate. Then went back to lounge for another hour due to fuel load failure.

Out of six qantas flights, all were delayed.
Out of 2 BA flights, one was early, the other perfectly to time. Despite the strike.

Not Qantas' best effort on our series of flights.

*sigh* Amateurs :p

The only problem you would have is if you have trouble sleeping in Y. Otherwise, not such a big deal once you're knocked out.

FWIW I somehow only managed to sleep 5 of the 13 hours of flight between BKK and LHR, and this was in F. Might have something to do with my restlessness, as well as taking off after midnight, having supper and then after waking up seeing not much worth in trying to go back to sleep.

I do love this line in my Qantas summary.

Getting closer!

It's not so bad...the last 260 will come easily (or you'll find it anyway :D). I'm taking that number should be smaller on account of delayed crediting? It's only a big consideration if you wanted WP for a certain date (e.g. my first time WP before a F Lounge run).

It sure is:!: First time WP is very hard - 1400 SC is a real stretch. Not having to notch up an extra 200 SC to keep WP is a welcome relief!

Also, it's amazing the impact that WP has on your points balance (unless you fly a lot of certain partner airlines). Not mind-blowing spectacular, but noticeable.

Oh, yes. I have finished my first practicum.

Tomorrow, 445am departure for OOL and I will be checked in for a day of JQ* and by tomorrow night I will be in Nippon!

Sitting in the Cairns Cathay Reef Lounge (formerly the QP). Had a nice JQ23 OOL-CNS in *class.

If you are in CNS and flying JQ or QF in J or you have appropriate OW status, you should be able to get in to the lounge no trouble whatsoever. They took the usual details from my BP and now I have 2 hours to kill and G&T to drink. Hurrah!

And local craft beers too.

Just to be a little spammy, this is from another forum I'm on where people were discussing the guy in Utah who was just executed by firing squad. Someone was expressing their displeasure at the fact that the condemned is allowed a last meal of whatever they want and so on.

-There is a price limit on the meals
- The meal requested may not reflect the meal served
- they kill you afterwards

Sounds like a bad airline.

Is now in LAX home run stretch of my US trip.

What was I thinking taking the LAX-SYD flight on the A380 and hoping for an upgrade.

I should have flown via AKL for the better chance of an upgrade, maybe I should have flown direct, I would have just made 1400 SCs as I will be 25SC in front of platinum.

BNE-LAX is 45SCs not the 40SCs I originally calculated.

But I still wanted the A380 that was the biggest draw card.

I have been mostly impressed with AA first, the AA MD80s aren't really that great but they get the job done.

Home in 21 hours. :D

JQ arrived 35 minutes ahead of schedule to TOkyo, which meant I got straight on a train and through to the city in enough time to watch Holland beat Japan in the WC.

I'm using wireless internet on a Greyhound coach. Am travelling from Niagara Falls to Buffalo.

The bus station was a dive. Was no toilet paper and definitely not one to sit down on . But the bus is modern. My seat is an electric chair. Well, there are 2 powerpoints in the seat in front so I assume mine has the same.

Overnighting in Buffalo then on to DC.

I guess it is better than the firing squad. :)

Look forward to reading the TR.

Good reminder. Will attempt some tonight. Quiet night in my hotel in Buffalo. Took 2 hours to cross the border. I think it was the guy wearing a suit claiming he was on holiday but then admitting he was seeing clients. The processed passenger area was about 3 metres from the customs desks.

2 hours till I start spin class, I have a feeling I'm not going to be doing much walking today!

Walking?! Yesterday I walked to the Bodies exhibit then pushed onto Walmart. Ha ha ha what was I thinking? Started walking back to my hotel then I FINALLY saw a cab. Thank you Mr Driver for stopping!!!

Then today I decided to walk from the bus station to my hotel. Arrived to learn I could have phoned for a shuttle pick up.......

I needed it. The night before I was drinking a zambucca shot with some Poms who were travelling the world without flying. Then I ended up at a karoke bar drinking with a couple of 60-somethings.

I just wish I had worn my runners and had my ipod so the distance would have recorded.
