A Saturday is a bit rushed for me as well. Maybe revisit August?
Not easy to get 7 people from 3 states together. Haven't heard from Lindsay, straitman or NM on any preferred dates.

If we change to August I can do 5/6, 19/20 only. September I was looking forward to spend 4-5 days in MEL playing golf on the Mornington peninsula.

Seems most posting can do 29/30th July or 5/6th August.

So how about settling one of those weekends. I know it's unfortunate for those who can't make it then but there can be other times.

FWIW, all mid-year Oz school holidays will have finished 24th July so discount fare availability should be better.

OK, so which date is it??

Either of the dates proposed by serfty are fine by me.

Hmm, I have a mid-Year Conference at Hyatt Coolum on 27/28 July. Will have to check my availability...

Now that is a nice golf course, and just down the road from me :D

Somehow, I don't think they would take kindly to a bunch of guys with buckets and spades

Mt Coolum GC is not too shabby either; must be many many balls in those mangroves... and "no, I'm not going in there to look for them..."

Why do I get the feeling that you have played golf there?

Serfty, what is hiding in the mangroves?

Legless golf balls, yes. Golf balls with fangs ... hmm?
I think serfty is referring to balata golf balls as they have a bit of bite on them.

My golf balls usually come with snorkels or scuba tanks, not fangs. They prepare themselves for the inevitable before being placed on the tee.

At least you can joke about it.

We need to firm up a date on this ASAP! QF has The Great Australian Sale on right now (ending 1st June) with some really good value deals.

I would really like to lock down some golf trips to TSV in July/Aug, MEL in September, HBA in November/December.

28/29 July is AKL do.

Otherwise I could possibly make sometime in August, depending on fares and work and other commitments.

Didn't realise. That may have been a good one to attend. :) Any AFF'ers apart from you attending? I suppose I can check on FT!

I don't see this one getting off the ground as serfty and I are the only ones that have committed. Or should that be have been committed?

I was thinking of attending; here is the FT Link: Auckland - 28th to 30th July. I've been investigating airfares.

hmmm $218 MEL-BNE-MEL ...
JohnK, perhaps we can discuss this with some native Brisvegans at Ozfest this weekend; W/E Aug 5th & 6th could work well. It also keeps that July weekend free for K/F fest. ;)
