Just wear your running gear under the toga. :D Leave party, shed sheet and start running.

We might have to have a special do just for you on that day, you'll be so exhausted that anything might happen.

As for a Shoalhaven do, well can we crash on your floor?

I saw a toga online where the skirt has built in flashing lights. Wonder if they would make me run faster?

Could do a lunch maybe. Probably will drive home the Monday as I avoid the Clyde Mountain on a Sunday afternoon (also avoid it on a Friday afternoon).

Not sure what Mum and Dad would say to all these randoms visiting........

I gess it had to happen sometime.1 of our bags did not make it to BUD.Checking in at SVO only 1 of our bags got a priority sticker-that is the one missing.Hearing some of the stories about SVO I am assuming we might not see it again so now doing a search of EU compensation.

More like Montreal.

Specifically, if an international routing including a signatory country to the Montreal Convention and items in checked luggage go missing then:
  • There is a one week time limit to make a claim in writing, and,
  • The carriers liability is limited to 1000XDR's (Currently ~USD1500)

Check the carriers CoC - Montreal overrides them where applicable.

Or 1117.54 Euros as of today and it is only if bag is lost.In the EU that is defined as not returned to you within 21 days.Absolutely no compensation for delayed baggage from MA-though they did give us each an international J amenities pack.
They told us at the airport there was another flight tonight but checking the MA and BUD websites that is not the case. However www.mylostbag.com has the bag at BUD now.So hopefully it turns up soon.

That's great news! I had my suitcase opened and perfume/ jewelry stolen from it flying KLM MUC - AMS, 3 years later I'm not holding my breath waiting for compensation from KLM.
An airline to be a avoided at all costs!!

Oh that you knew about this site back then as you would have indeed been entitled to compensation under Montreal.

You would have had a week to notify the airline in writing about the stolen items. Again compensation would have been payable up to that 1000XDR. Note that if you have claimed though your travel insurance and been paid out; the underwriter then would consider pursuing KLM under Montreal and would likely have done so if the amount was significant enough.

Not actually. This is from the European Commissions FAQs on compensation-
<H3>What if the luggage is damaged or items go missing from my luggage?
Where luggage is damaged, an air carrier will often ask for a written estimate for the cost of repairing the luggage.
In the event of any items going missing from luggage, it can be very difficult to get any compensation, often because it is almost impossible to prove that the items were there in the first place.

Conversely, it can be stated, it is almost impossible for the carrier to prove the items were not there.

Generally, if you make in, writing, reports to both the local police and the carrier as soon as possible after you discover the item(s) missing in writing (and certainly within seven days) and can show you had the items claimed as missing in your possession at some stage (e.g. purchase receipts) then it is more than likely that such a claim be successful.

Good timing on this, one thing I've actually done for this trip is to photograph everything as it's going in and have also made a list to make it easier :)

Another good reason why Hand Luggage Only, can be rather useful.

I actually did all of the above, KLM UK washed their hands of it once they discovered I didn't live in the UK ( where the crime was reported after bags arrived delayed and tampered with from AMS). Still waiting on KLM Oz to get back to me. 3 yrs and several letters from me later and lesson learned KLM are an awful airline with dreadful customer service. The "inflight catering" on the MUC-AMS was Tuck crackers!! It was all too horrible. I will never complain about BA again !!

I think the dude doing 6 weeks of travel with no luggage would probably agree, although I am not sure I would like to be allocated a seat with him as his trip draws to a close.

Well MUC-AMS is only a short flight so fair enough, and you obviously haven't flown BA lately on a similar distance flight!:p

It's obviously too late now but see this thread from FlyerTalk:

How do you 'blow' an airline on a flight, depending on distance?

Actually.... don't answer that....

Thanks serfty, I"ll be better informed the next time (whilst not travelling KLM!!). My attitude ( and I'm prepared to be contradicted on this) is that my time is valuable, the cost of the stolen goods here was approximate $600. If I need to spend significant amounts of my valuable time trying to recover $600 from said coughpy airline, I don't consider this a good use of my time. I will never travel with them again and am happy to advise others not to either.
