Had the old greeting today: "welcome on board ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! I thought they were past that...? :(

What's wrong with that? Seems a reasonable way to address some of your passengers.

I have heard this same phrase on other airlines as well.

Start of spring and Mother Nature is already turning up the humidity in Brisbane :(

Our air conditioning / ventilation at work is not quite catching up. Not only is it not cool enough here, but the air just isn't blowing, which means poor cycling of air. Dumb dumb dumb:!:

Was that on the b*s to CHC or the DJ flight? I could imagine on either that there would be a fair percentage of kids, so makes some sense to say hi to them separately.

I'm the opposite. We turned ours on today for the first time in a while (we've had issues with it beig too cold, so with winter we've left it off). Now I'm having trouble with my hands' motor functions.

Time to go for a walk to warm up

To replace QF and Oneworld or are you going to try and keep both?

Don't really know. Requalifying WP doesn't take too much effort and I'll be in the US a few times before my year ends - so if I decide I want to keep a hold of it, it's a fairly easy decision to make.

DJ Gold - somewhat tougher to decide; if I keep DJ Gold I'm not sure I could keep QF WP as well. Am v interested to see what happens with the brand overhaul and decisions on the announced joint ventures with DL and NZ later this year.

Took a walk through where Oktoberfest will be held this year, and it is massive! Apparently it can get up to 1,000,000 people there at it's peak.. incredible!

Yeah it is incredible to visit. It's not something I could do each year, but the various beer halls are interesting. There are some things I particularly remember:

- The racks and racks and racks of chickens cooking in some of the tents.
- How people can carry 8 or so steins at one time.
- How many people do fit into the tents.
- How easy it was to get to via Public Transport.

I didn't make it out to the BMW museum, but that would also be a good trip if you're still in Munich.

Don't much care for it myself :(
Was it a Virgin Blue or a Pac Blue flight?

Pacific Blue.

There was 1 child on the bus, and I should really say teenager.

On the plane, not including the aforementioned teenager, there were 2 more. Not exactly enough to warrant a repeat of their old childish ways. :p

I'm having a year off for travel, and have found a good conference to assist in tax deduction ( http://www.uscessentials.comSo if anything, it might make life easier for ED staff (but not more satisfying, if you care about providing comprehensive initial care)

Thanks for this. Got me thinking if the medics on AFF could have a conference thread??

Pacific Blue.

That actually explains a lot. I was told (and am unsure how true/false this is) that Pac Blue is seen as their el cheapo holiday carrier that still gets away with the stupid antics. :-/

Continuing to lose weight slowly.

Not great progress but still persevering with my diet and have now gone down to a weight level I have not seen since at least 2008. :)

Great work.I have also seen a weight I have not seen for years but unfortunately in the other direction. After getting off the ship and started walking more it is slowly turning around but now I have 4 weeks in the USA.:oops:

Awesome and well done. I too am still losing weight, another 15kg to go and I will be at an acceptable weight. So far 35kg lost.

I find my daily 5km walk is now something I look forward to rather than something I need to do. I aim for six walks a week.

Yeh, I went to the BMW museum yesterday, was interesting. Just got back from Neuschwanstein Castle, was a great day for it - blue skies and temp wasn't too hot either. A long day out though, from leaving my accommodation to getting back to it was about 13 hours.

That sounds about right for timing - hope the experience was well worth it!

I would've liked to go, but time and money were against me on that count.

To be fair though, on the flight over it didn’t happen, just the way back. so there are some that can’t let go of the past it seems :p

I haven't lost anywhere near that amount but for me any loss is good. My target is also 15kgs but I am going to break it down into smaller targets and the next target is to lose the next 5kgs.

Believe it or not walking does nothing for me. Well not noticeable anyway.

I started walking again yesterday and did 30 minutes. If I can do that 2-3 days a week plus 2 games of golf on weekend then that is going to have to suffice for my weekly exercise.
