Was there a reason you went to Sydney.

Needed 20SC by the end of the year to get me to Gold, saw a sale fare so booked it. I also wanted an October-issue Qantas mag, and just picked up a pristine copy from a bench nearby.

I did look at what exhibitions were on, but after missing my flight, and then getting on a flight with only morning tea, I felt brunch in the lounge was smarter than heading into town… and I doubt I’ll move from here now, though I do want to send some postcards, do they have a mailbox within the airport does anyone know?

If in Sydney, IIRC Australia Post is located near Gate 7.

Actually pretty sure there is a mail box in the domestic terminal,

maybe go and locate it and give us a post on it, with location of it.

As oz_mark said, Australia Post was next to gate 7. Found it easily, in fact from the QP it’s just a left turn and a gate away (more from J lounge).

Bought and posted 4 post cards, reckon I’ll beat them all leaving the airport though!

Opposite the entrance to the museum (or thereabouts)

The entrance to the museum is sort of nearby, but it’s around a corner so you wouldn’t know it was there if stood at Australia Post.

I checked it out though, as I had nothing else going on, some really nice models in there. Good view of the tarmac too, got some photos :D

Cheers, I might check that out the next time it gets a bit quieter in here.
How long are you going to be in the Qantas Lounge?

I was thinking of coming down to the airport to do some printing and faxing but my father has taken my car to do some errands and has not returned yet.

I’m here for another hour or so, then I think I’m boarding, though two flights have been delayed due to late arrivals much earlier in the day, so I do wonder (and hope not) if it’ll be my flight eventually.

I’m on QF544 at 18:05.

... I’m on QF544 at 18:05.
544 is due to be operated by an ex BA 763 - this particular one ("Mornington") I hate the most (after spending 95 minutes sitting in it at a gate in MEL).

It's coming up from MEL and due to land at 17:55, some ½ hour late.

Currently estimated departure to BNE is at 18:30 - hope you were not planning on catching the Airtrain?

Last AirTrain service is 20:00 anyway, but argh!!

Good to know you hate it… I’m in 24E and expecting dinner, but it’s not as late as it could be. Seems this isn’t my day.

You have no idea. Only good thing that has happened for me today is I got a haircut.

If you count 'today' from 0000h, then I guess you should throw in a great conversation with LW and an SWU to NC for one of my UA flights cleared.

I'd be seeing if you can ride on a Coachtrans shuttle or other shuttle by now. Costs around $15 to get to city. Otherwise, you're gonna bend over if you're getting a taxi.

Thanks for the heads up serfty, I owe you a beer!

I’ve just been moved onto QF540, last seat apparently, though they might always say that. Catering not guaranteed, but I’ll be n my way in 5 minutes.

54J

Arrival update from MEL, 18:02 - that's 37 minutes late.

Maybe they won't cater dinner?

I know that the food isn't much to write home about, but that'd still suck.

Catering not assured, on ticket and as relayed by QP staff.

Captain was very informative. A/c broke down and still stuck in MEL, but "as we're a larger airline, we found a replacement". Haha.

I can smell food though. Flight mode now. Updates from BNE soon.
