Captain was very informative. A/c broke down and still stuck in MEL, but "as we're a larger airline, we found a replacement". Haha.

Riiiight... "Actually, me mate was just stopping by and I told him we were in a tad of a pickle, so he gave me the keys to his fine vehicle and I says to him that I shall be returning it as soon as the day is up, along with a fine carton of ale."

 :D

You have no idea. Only good thing that has happened for me today is I got a haircut.

If you count 'today' from 0000h, then I guess you should throw in a great conversation with LW and an SWU to NC for one of my UA flights cleared.
NC? From where I am sitting I would say you have had a great day.

I still cannot have a haircut as I would not be able to sit in a barber's chair for that long withiout being extremely uncomfortable, don't know anyone who would waste an SWU on me and only have the pleasure of speaking to the great Lindsay Wilson once in a blue moon. ;)

Currently estimated departure to BNE is at 18:30 - hope you were not planning on catching the Airtrain?
And with daylight saving could mean a 19:00 arrival into BNE and plenty of time for the last airtrain of the night at 20:00.

54J
Just be thankful you got an earlier flight and not delayed further.

Some people have all the luck.

UA keeps its upgrade inventory (or some of it) in Nx classes, e.g. NC for Business, NF for First. Don't ask me how it works; I don't know.

Suffice to say, I owe someone much more than a drink, but said person who sponsored me doesn't drink...

Well, the lecture I was late for today and delivered was supposed to be recorded (i.e. visualiser output captured and audio as well). We've had this system of recording lectures at uni for a long time now. But for some reason, the capture failed today, and all I got was the 30s or so with the class in the background and me talking to someone else whilst setting up the visualiser.

So now there is no lecture recording available, I'm preparing notes for soft-copy in lieu of no recording. More work, more joy

I couldn't find any parking when I got to uni; there were at least 6 people circling the same car park area I was trying to find a park for. I ended up parking under our building, but you need a permit to park there. I was away for 1.5 hrs and lucky to come back and find no ticket. (As I was told later, extremely lucky....)

Ahh. UA Business Class. And here I was thinking of North Carolina.

Sorry to hear that a few things went wrong today but I would swap one of my recent days in hospital or recouperating for your bad day anyday....

Arrived. Will catch the train I'd planned on per original flight, but hope the line is fixed at Beenleigh. Ugh!

Edit: managed the 18:34. Might get a burger and proper meal at central now.

McDonalds? Burger and proper meal?

I did not think McDonalds surved proper meals. :p Or are you saying McDonalds meals are better than what is on offer in Qantas Lounges? ;)

Well a Maccas burger may have been more filling than the savoury scroll I had onboard, but turns out this rackety old train IS the express to the Gold Coast, so I might be home early.

It's been a strange day.

Well as long as the miles and SCs post then the day won't have turned out to bad.

Unfortunately nothing yet, but hoping they come through tomorrow or I’ll need to chase them up. Both flights were changed however.

I think so long as your QFF number is displayed on your boarding pass then they should post OK.

Thought I might try an illegal lounge hop over to the J Lounge but can't be bothered as I have a nice comfy window seat :)

On Sunday the TT plane was just outside the window.Didn't QF want them today?

Am in Portugal and picking up a car tomorrow, should be interesting.. driving on the wrong side of the road and in a manual as the auto wasn't available! D'oh!

Is it just my imagination or are there more and more people driving on the roads these days that have no idea what they are doing? How do they get their licences?

Also in the last couple of years the amount of damage done to my car whilst parked in car parks is unbelievable. I know car spaces have gotten smaller over the years but surely it is not that hard to park a car and then leave without causing damage to other cars.

I have never done it to anyone so why is it happening to me? The latest damage looks quite serious and the dent is the size of a large dinner plate. Perhaps I should not own a car but I simply cannot afford to fix someone else's mistake even with my rating 1 for life.
