Had to tell someone - it's too geeky to bore my friends with, but I think you'll all appreciate how happy it makes me!

I just snagged 4 nights at the Hilton Times Square over New Years Eve this year using points + Q3FN. Saved $2650, which is less than I spent in getting the points and vouchers in the first place (almost all earned at Doubletrees, HGIs, and suburban Hiltons).

Awesome!

Someone tried to PM me and found my in box full. All empty now.

Wonder why there isn't a message to say it is full? Or did I miss it?

That's pretty damn good - hard enough to book around New Years:!:

Looks like you're all set to have a great time.

Just back to the geeky part... Hilton Times Square is a 50k/night hotel. So you blew 150k + free night cert. Now how did you get 150k for less than $2650? Even with triple points promo, HH Gold loading, and I think there were a couple of long-stay promos ... and unless you chose points+points option rather than miles+points... help me out here....

On Sunday the TT plane was just outside the window.Didn't QF want them today?

In the background of that shot there is I think a TT bird, one pushed back just after I took it. Enjoying anytime access today it is only DJ on view, horrible weather which I hope all in Brisbane have escaped

Yes we have escaped the bad weather. Very hot here. And now there's a very large group of flyers in the J lounge.

I should clarify- it was 3xQ3FN and 50,000 points. I earned 1 voucher per four stays in q1 this year, at around $100-$150 per night. I'm not sure about the points calculations, but I still have some left.

There may have been an explanation somewhere on AFF but is there any reason why this message appears on some posts before the actual contents of the post?

It just depends where the poster decides to

Just like being able to select a location linked from the GPS and Google maps.

In the quote above the first sentence is useless to most people so I guess my question was more related to the point if it is really relevant which device a user used to post to AFF?

No big deal just looks messy. Just like when people quote all 7 paragraphs of a post but are actually posting a 1 line response to the 6th line in the 4th paragraph.

The AFF iPhone app by default has the 'signature' on. It is possible to turn it off, but you need to find the cleverly hidden settings ;)

As you might be able to tell, I managed to find them. :p

No, they just dont give a ****.

Knowing that its using the app is handy if you are trying to work out why there are three consecutive posts when a multiquote would have been batter, which I dont believe is a feature of the app.
