This oneworld lounge has the worst wifi signal, so no photo. At least I am checked in and have seat 26H.

What the hell was I thinking. The Qantas rep didn't even know I where I was heading, Brisbane and did not know I was platinum until I spoke to them in person, I should have stayed with QF16 and surprising that Qantas didn't try and protect me on QF108. They rung me about 12:00PM

Now I am on QF108 when QF12 is the earlier flight so more of Wednesday wasted, there is no QF16 on Monday.

Not completely sure Virgin Blue would have been better.

Too late now, but you should have endeavoured to use the T4 F/lounge first ;)

I was trying that yesterday but they didn't want to check me in. :(

And last time I looked there is no gate 136 in T4. :p

Thanks for all the replies, it might just stop me going insane.

A bit tough yesterday given you were offloaded. (I may have still requested entry).

Today I would have:
  • Gone to TBIT
  • Checked in there
  • Walked to T4
  • Pass though security using QF BP
  • Use T4 F/L (Explain you intend to use the Qantas Airside bus at 9pm on entry)
  • 8:55pm head to G44 bus stop
  • 9pm bus to TBIT
  • 9:05pm access TBIT F/L to await flight.

It's getting tougher as we have been sitting on the aircraft for about one hour already whilst we wait for the thunderstorms to clear :!:

They expect about another 30 min yet.
We finally departed at 2105 so nearly 3 hrs late.

We pushed back at approx 2000 and got as far as the holding point when the next thunderstorm hit. Quite a bumpy trip for about the first hour but then pretty good.

Honolulu is great and Mr & Mrs Fredd (FT) say hello to all who know them.

Coming back to this thread after a long time off from the forum. It's good to be back, but I'm not going to try and catch up on the year that I missed.

Been off sitting my specialist examinations, and can finally say that I passed them. Will be fully qualified by next year - and there's a DONE4 (or maybe AONE4) in my future as a reward. My QP Life isn't cutting it anymore. :)

Welcome back...and congrats.

Good time to return too, as the promos and bonii seem to be coming out of the woodwork now that the GFC has faded.

Tally ho....

Congratulations, I too did the hard yards as a NB/ QP member before passing exams. I now drive all my junior staff for exams with the prospect of never flying whY again ;)

To all the doctors on AFF, this afternoon I had a numbness around my left shoulder, that was followed by my left arm feeling sort of heavy and I felt light headed. I sat down and checked my pulse but all was normal. I’m no asking for a diagnosis, but should I be worried? Should I go see a doctor?

The rest of the night carried on pretty uneventful and it was suggested I had a panic attack, though I didn’t think I was panicking, so just thought I’d ask :D

Whilst I agree that previous sentiments that you shouldn't be asking this sort of stuff through a forum, and I don't know your personal history, etc., so this is obviously going to be of a general nature and doesn't take into account your personal circumstance, so this is obviously not a consultation.

But from what you've said, there's enough here for me to think that you should be going to see your GP again and telling them what you said here, and if it happens again, you should probably be calling an ambulance and heading to your nearest Emergency Department.

Thank you - I've put most of my international travel on hold for the last 5 years as I went through much of the training program. Time to start enjoying things a little - and to make sure the work remains flexible. Not going to get myself locked into a Staff Specialist position just yet.

Sounds awesome. Welcome back and congrats! :D

It's 3 in the morning over here and I'm wide awake. Will probably get through tomorrow on adrenaline yet again...

PS - this thread is getting a little on-topic, with talks of missed flights, op ups and DONE4s...:!::shock::D

Best I derail it then!

Went to see The Social Network tonight - was actually really good. I was expecting Justin Timberlake to be dreadful, but he wasn't (then again .. he was playing the role of a smarmy git, so there wasn't much acting involved) ;)

For some reason I like movies that don't have happy endings.

Why not? TESL has funded a lot of my travel (at the pointy end) over the last 10 years, in partic. the last 6 years;)

Welcome back Doc and congratulations!

Tell me about it. I've been off travelling for a few months now so it's a big change going back to full-time work. Haven't had time for lunch the past 2 days. The other guy who started the same time as me said "I don't care how busy we are, I don't get paid for it so I make sure I take my full hour every day" ; I guess I'm just a sucker:!: I'd rather see the work get completed though.

I wouldn't say you are a sucker but we are all different.

Generally it takes me <15 minutes to have my lunch and glance through the newspaper so I wouldn't want to waste 1 hour for lunch unless I had to go somewhere. One of the advantages of flexible working hours.

It really is a different market over here in London. If looking for a contract extension (and possible raise in position ), these are the kind of things you just suck up and move on with. All part of the job.
