Do you mean poor, inconsistent programming?
No, I believe it's consistent programming that we have yet to get our head around ...

I am thinking it's a device to prevent textual FLAMING!... it is a PITA though!

So has anyone got a Nokia N97 mini?

No, but a friend does, here is what I thought of it:

Good:

Solid Build
Good Battery Life
Good Internet Speeds / WiFi etc.

Bad:

The clunky Symbian OS, really poor compared to other smartphones, it lags at times even when its doing a simple task like opening a message  Just like my current E63, at least the N97 doesn't randomly turn itself off

Which network are you with anyways???

Josh:p

So has anyone got a Nokia N97 mini?
My son has N97 (not Mini) and does not like it. Has spend more time being serviced/repaired than being used. He would swap it for the mini if his Telco was willing. He believes the mini does not suffer from the problems of the original N97 because they removed some of the problematic features/functions.

Depending on how you are placed for time see if we can organise drinks for Friday evening then.

I could possibly make it to Brisbane for that.

Yeah it's possible I could make a Friday night drinks session...

Sorry guys, the sands have shifted. I now have Saturday day free, and friday night is taken. This is confirmed. Not sure how your placed on Saturday but I have a clear day.

Wouldn't surprise me. The all singing all dancing Nokia's have their issues, and one of the issues is their appalling after sales support.

Was that the one that started in India?

It will be with Vodafone so I can receive the 10,000 Amex MR points bonus. From what I have noticed Vodafone, Optus and 3 Mobile are all offering the same $29 plan with $180 calls included.

Then again I may stay with my current plan on Telstra ($30/month with $25 free calls but 3 miniute phone calls for free to a nominated number) as it is beneficial and I can call home many times throughout the day although they do not offer a new phone anymore.

Don't want to spend anymore than $30/month on any mobile phone plan.

My son has N97 (not Mini) and does not like it.
Personally I would prefer Motorola but it would appear they either do not make the older style mobiles anymore or the dealers do not stock them.

I am free Saturday. Happy to meet up for a lolly water or 2....

Happy to meet too but shall stick with Mal's idea ;)
That's OK. I shall stick to lolly water. :p

It is 9 weeks today since I had a beer and hopefully will make it to 10 weeks before re-assessing my sobriety. :)

I'm still free on Saturday. Happy to meet up for a drink/bite to eat.

Sounds great. If it's a bite to eat, then perhaps around 1. The usual place has been mentioned which is the mill hotel I guess. But anywhere is fine for me.

I think the only time you should consider a drop of alcohol could be NYE ;)
I will to try and hold out until Christmas Day as it is my father's Name Day and the next day I fly out to Singapore and then Thailand.

The Mill suits me fine as I do not have to go very far although I will leave it up to the other guys if they want to suggest another venue.
