Some of you are harder to track down than others and more difficult when some catch earlier flights.
And end up sitting in the aircraft until close to departure of my original flight anyway as we were for a crew member due in on another flight from MEL.

Me with my dislike of 737's and trying to avoid them at all costs. Should have taken the earlier 734 (but scheduled later than the 763 flight I chose) I was offered instead as it got into SYD earlier.

Withthe delay out of syd I presumed you'd boarded by the time I arrived?

You should know my luck by now. Not often I get offered earlier flights on deep discount red e-deals and when I select a flight 1 hour before my original flight it ends up leaving late anyway.

Thank goodness, someone else who hates 737's.

I wish every 737, and for that matter 767 in the QF fleet would just magically seize up overnight and require so much work they'd just decommission these cough Boeing children to put us out of our misery.

I too try to avoid flying on either type, but sadly thanks to the fleet changes arising from A380 non-op I was stuck with the 767 on the SIN-PER. Thank heavens I was in A Zone and next to a older German pax who was quite as a mouse and didn't shift in her seat otherwise I'd have been going mental.

IMO there's nothing wrong with the 737s or 767s. The QF 767s wouldn't be so bad if they ran most of the time on time and the interiors were freshened up. That is the problem; it's not the aircraft type per se. Of course, I think times will be better when the 787 is finished, reliable and up-and-running.

As for the 737s, it is the most common aircraft type in the world. So many LCCs (and DJ, for that matter) rely on the aircraft extensively. Hating them would preclude you from flying so many airlines around the world, and routes for that matter. And the only reason why one hates them (or QF's 737s) is that they are narrow-body, i.e. less room to move. For that matter, why not hate A320s? (I realise the older aircraft of 734s suffer the same interior and maintenance problems as the 767s).

Recently flew DJ 737 from BNE-PER vv and didn't mind it. Yes I'd prefer a QF plane, and yes I'd prefer twin Aisle, but you can't have everything. It suited the needs.

4-6 hours is my tolerance for a 737, above that I really want a twin aisle.

It's called Drift now. Changed hands, my guess.

Doesn't really count, since it's all attached to land and otherwise well structurally supported, not that parts of it float on water per se. Uniquely, however, I think it's the only restaurant which allows one to turn up in a boat and moor.

Brett's Wharf? I'm sure I've been past and spied some nautical outfits and loafers.

I'm going to have to double check next time I'm in Brisbane. Last time I went there I was sure it was floating, as in a pontoon. Of course that was at the turn of the century.

No official floating restaurants. You can have a meal on the Kookaburra Queen, if that counts (probably doesn't).

To put to rest any further speculation, Bundy Bear probably sent that tweet whilst on a CityCat. Dinner was apparently at Vapiano (AFF#4 Dinner haunt).

He could have been on a Golden Gondola, which are fun when overtaken by a city cat when you trying to eat dinner :D.

I went there about 5 years ago.

IIRC, It was fixed on piles driven into the river bed, there was a floating dock attached to which boats could moor.

Thank goodness, someone else who hates 737's.
And just so that my run of bad luck continues I managed to pre-allocate 4D on a 738 for yesterday's flight and when I boarded the flight it had magically changed to a 734.

My tolerance level on 737's is ~1 hour unless the options are very limited such as BNE-ADL, LAX-DCA red-eye etc.

Why anyone would pay or use points to upgrade to business on a QF 734 is beyond me.

A LCC is a different story to a full service carrier such as QF. One would expect to be paying a LCC for a cheap airfare to be on a 737 where as QF charges the same for an A330, 763, 738 and 734 on the same domestic route. If that is the case I do not want to be on a 738 or 734 on these routes.

And yes I have a dislike of A320's as well especially if they are operated by JQ. ;)

Just checked and while my pay went in ok on Tuesday night they have doubled up my payments - 2 manual funds transfers to loans made on Wednesday. The other was strangely a doubled up an EFTPOS payment made on Friday, with the "second payment" being made on the 25th that is Thursday - so they extracted the money a day before the purchase was made. Time travel?

Will call them Monday.

Everything back to normal today  Double payments are gone and the ones that should have gone through last week have cleared as well. I heard on the news this morning that they are going to refund people who get late payment fees so all should be back to normal... I hope

I don't have a preference over the 737's to the 763's, although I don't like the ex BA critters.

Travelling WHY most of the time domestically, I do like to get a 734 over a 73H as they normally have 6 'preferred' seats rather than 2.

I do get 4C/D on the 73H's most of the time, often through diligent checking. Once into 4/5/6 C/D on the 734's I'm generally happy.

Might just add to my wishlist....

Just been watching the news in Sydney. There was talk about some big secret special thing for the harbour display on New Year's Eve. I wonder if it would be a dump and burn from an F-111.

Oh and a political party is finally pushing nuclear. :D
About time, loved the green MP comparing Australia to North Korea as a reason not to have nuclear. Maybe as a Queenslander I've wanted to bomb the NSW, especially when Harrigan was referee, but still it isn't likely to happen.

Wonder if the pro-nuclear political party will don pantsuits like ol' mate in Pyongyang?
