Which reminds me,it must be time for John K to start the 350,000 post tipping thread!

As it's a manufacturers recall I don't think you should have a problem but if you did you could always ring the hotline.

Thanks, I downloaded the PDF anyway and shall probably just call my local BWS (where I bought them) and see what they say, otherwise I’ll call the hotline and complain :p

Well that narrows it down to ~18,000 people.

I drove down to Redland Bay this morning for a game of golf but the Sunday morning competition was cancelled and I did not really want to play golf on my own. I then drove down towards the Gold Coast and came back to do some shopping at Underwood while I had a rental car.

I shall tell all on Wednesday… too bad I wasn’t at home today and you didn’t text me as I’d have invited you over.

Anyone want to guess when this thread will reach 10,000 posts?

A week, give or take :p

Soon or even sooner if people read your post and then post on this thread to speed up the process. :p

Thanks for reminding me. I remembered it during the week and then forgot to create the thread. :-|

You will love it - make sure you do a trip report! The company is owned by an Italian family who employ a curator full time to purchase art & other antiques. Outside the ship's theatre were a collection of classic Marilyn Monroe photos.

The whole ship is understated elegance & not at all flashy or garish & in a way reminds me of the 1950's Hollywood era - not that I was around then! :p

I've been sussing out the Silversea website and there's a cruise from Bridgetown to San Juan. What a perfect way to join the dots when doing KUPP fares HNL/BGI - SJU/HNL!

Everything's included right down to Bulgari toiletries in your bathroom. You don't even need to tip.

Gotta figure out a way to turn a dream into reality.

To quote from the IPCC report-"widespread changes in precipitation amounts, ocean salinity, wind patterns and aspects of extreme weather including droughts, heavy precipitation, heat waves and the intensity of tropical cyclones."
Nothing about predicting record low temperatures.

I don't know, isn't a record low an example of "aspects of extreme weather" ?

Extreme is not limited to high.

Extreme is not limited to high.

The weather today will be either rainy, dry, hot or cold.
Yep, that covers most options. Just like "extreme weather" does....

Well not really. Weather covers all options. Extreme qualifies it; average, and above or below average would not be extreme. But record high or low would be extreme, be that any of rain, drought, hot or cold.

Just had a call from Telstra saying they were 'concerned I wasn't getting the best value out of my current mobile plan'

I was on the $99.00 plan for $700 in calls but they had called me a few months ago & offered me the $79.00 plan for the same phone credit. I didn't have to sign for another 24 months just same inclusions for $20.00 less per month. In hindsight it was probably just a sweetener for when my contract did come up for renewal back in September so I told them to change it over.

I told the person today I should already have been on the $79.00 plan the persons name & store where she worked who was meant to have changed it. I was told that hadn't happened & I was still on the $99.00 plan & the other girl had left which in their eyes must make it ok.

When I asked if she could convert me to the $79.00 plan now she said I would have to go on a 24 month contract. I didn't want to do that without investigating other options first I said that for the moment I would stick with my $99.00 plan for the $700.00.

The thing is that it's apparently only $500.00 worth of calls unless you sign a new contract & has been for the last three months, I just wasn't aware.

So in short to get the best deal you've gotta be stitched up.

Fortunately my monthly phone bills have been the same but I'd be so annoyed with them if I'd made $700.00 worth of calls each month. Might check out Vodafone but goes to show that I'm not really using over $500.00.

*** rant over *** :p :p

Well technically it is in golden beach not caloundra. But as kid I used to have home raft races in the creek that was on the north side of the swamp that is now pelican waters.

Pelican Swamp doesnt sounds as nice as Pelican Waters  but it is the Mosquito capital of the sunshine coast

Me and all. But I didn't want to say anything to avoid offense, for once ;)
My iPhone weather app told me 1mm in Brisbane when I checked so that was no help and probably wrong.

You are probably right 40mm - all I know is that it didnt stop raining here for two days. Monday and the sun is out and now exceptionally humid.

I have just signed up for a Vodafone $49 combo plan for 24 months (could do 12 months if you want) and with this you get a new handset, $450 worth of calls each month, 1.5GB data on the phone and 2GB mobile broadband each month and the dongle is free of charge.

All in all a very good plan for my current needs although I could have done with a little more mobile broadband each month.

Also note if you are a member of the NRMA then you get the first 3 months credited back and 10% off for the remainder of the contract. And if you pay with an Amex card starting with 3760 then you also get 10,000 Amex MR points.

The only downside is Vodafone appears to have poor coverage (they were the best 10+ years ago, what has happened since?) and poor customer care in my 3 days back with them this time around.

Well I could be wrong. Just check the rainfall observations and gympie up to Childers area had some 100+mm in the 24 hours to 9am this morning.
