If you'd like to fight a certain someone else for it ;)

Haha. Might be safer to buy my own ;) But after the airfare back to LHR I doubt I'd be saving any money.

BTW, there's an show on History Channel at the moment about London history. It's quite interesting.

See you in March :p

BTW, the last few days have been considerably warmer here. Just wearing a suit has been enough, I haven't needed my coat. Last week was not the case though!

Off to Oslo tonight though, so coat is definitely being employed ;)

Is it wrong to use the free Qantas wifi before catching a bus to the hotel.

I made it to NZ, temperature much more pleasant.

Something of food for thought for all the threads about Velocity points crediting slowly (or "not at all")...

I had DJ flights on 05 Dec and 10 Dec; according to my Velocity record which I've just viewed now, it took 1 day for my 05 Dec flight to be credited.

10 Dec is a Friday, so I'd suspect it might take longer for that flight to be credited, but we'll see.

Since DJ flights credit based on $ spent, it's interesting that you can see how much you paid for your ticket, or rather times, how much whoever booked for you had to charge the relevant expense account.

In my case, I was credited 1,025 points, which for this Red member figures to $205 for a BNE-SYD flight. Viva le last minute plans...

LOL! Fat chance that's happening! :p :o

No mileage run could achieve that let alone it being worth the effort.

Good photos! And glad the Inner Circle access worked out for you. Wasn't sure if it was supposed to happen or not, and it definitely wasn't properly advertised. Also getting access to the back of the stage area was good, as we were able to see Bono + co up close as they were preparing to run out to the stage. A quick wander back into the Inner Circle gave us excellent viewing positions... Not very often you are able to do that!

For anyone in Perth, it seems that the whole Vodafone mobile network is down...

fun:evil:

I heard it was down, but had started coming back up in the last half hour or so. This is what Voda have to say ATM:

Customers in Western Australia are currently experiencing issues in accessing Vodafone 2G & 3G Voice & Data services. Engineers are currently onsite investigating the issues. ** Update** Estimated time for resolution is 16:00hrs WAST

:(

Got work at 5..my work requires me to use a PDA with a direct connection to Vodafone network so I can relay time-critical data to Switzerland...

Looks like I got 2+ hours on the backup 3 mobile hey what. (if that even works given their merger...)

edit: i have read that some now have coverage back...guess i'll keep my fingers crossed.

Interesting to note that with the recent Cancun climate Change conference Cancun experienced record low temperatures for December.

Cancun is north of the equator? Winter record lower temperature doesn't seem strange given the season. Climate change supposed to be about extremes......

Doesn't matter if it is winter, summer or whatever if the temperature is the lowest recorded for that day ever recorded it is significant-and for 5 days of the conference were the 5 lowest temperatures ever recorded in Cancun for december.

Yes. Sounds like an extreme to me climate change is supposed to be about extremes, both high and low.

To quote from the IPCC report-"widespread changes in precipitation amounts, ocean salinity, wind patterns and aspects of extreme weather including droughts, heavy precipitation, heat waves and the intensity of tropical cyclones."
Nothing about predicting record low temperatures. In fact the report mentions rising temperatures and global warming many times and once mentions extreme cold-"cold days, cold nights and frosts have become less frequent."
And the prediction for warmer and fewer cold days in the 21st century-Virtually certain.
