To quote from the IPCC report-"widespread changes in precipitation amounts,ocean salinity,wind patterns and aspects of extreme weather including droughts,heavy precipitation,heat waves and the intensity of tropical cyclones."

On the SUNSHINE Coast we have just had over 40 cm of heavy rain in the last 12 hours. :(

They really need to rejig the new Queensland Tourism slogan ... (Queensland, where Australia shines) to something better. Perhaps:

"Queensland. Where it rains".

If you have any Boag's in the house, check it's expiry date. There is a recall for certain 375ml bottles.

Recall of Boag’s 375mL Bottles | Lion Nathan

J Boag & Son Pty Limited (part of Lion Nathan) is undertaking a voluntary recall of certain batches of 375ml bottles within the best before date range of 23 June 2011 to 12 August 2011 ONLY:

* Boag’s Draught, 375ml bottles
* Boag’s Draught Light, 375ml bottles
* James Boag’s Premium, 375ml bottles
* James Boag’s Premium Light, 375ml bottles
* Boag’s xx_ Ale, 375ml bottles
* James Boag’s Classic Blonde, 375ml bottles

I have had bottles from the affected dates, and there is definitely an issue with them. On one, a shard of glass broke away when I opened it (I disposed of the bottle). On others, you can feel that they just aren't sealed properly and you can almost imagine the glass is about to break.

Perhaps I should have reported my incident (it happened over a week ago) and they would have recalled the bottles sooner...

Not that I needed one but this is a good reason for me to buy an extra slab of Barecove Radler for Christmas instead of Boags.:)

Interesting, I’ll assume we had bottles from the batch as a bottle had a break around the top when we opened it a week ago, but I think it’s all been drunk now.

I still think they could have come up with a better name than Barecove to replace Barefoot!

Yeah agreed,I wonder why Lion Nathan's marketing department didn't run a competition to come up with a new name ,would have been good publicity for them.
I guess they had to work quickly though when the high court ruled against them.

Well yesterday I had a local beer named in the top 20 aussie beers in the SMH-Kentish Ale from 7 Sheds Brewery,Sheffield.I preferred their Elephant's Trunk Belgian style beer though.

I just checked and I have a whole slab of affected beer, but I don’t think I have the receipt anymore. Is the store likely to accept the beer back for an exchange or am I going to have a problem?

As it's a manufacturers recall I don't think you should have a problem but if you did you could always ring the hotline.

For anyone in Perth, it seems that the whole Vodafone mobile network is down...
It would appear their call centre is down as well. Ah, it is like that all the time you say?

I have been trying since Friday to get my old Telstra mobile number ported to Vodafone and I am constantly on hold, sent to the wrong department and then back on the queue on hold and calls droping out etc. When you actually get to talk to someone it is almost a waste of time as I cannot understand the language they are speaking.

I think it is time to visit a Vodafone store.

I saw the beginning of the storm from the Beerwah Golf Club clubhouse and then drove around for ~2 hours looking for the Crowne Plaza at Twin Waters. Well it is actually Pelican Waters but let's not ruin a good story. I must have driven past the Pelican Waters sign 4-5 times. :(

Anyway I won a frozen chook at the Golf yesterday and it needs to be collected from Beerburrum by 31/01/2011. I am not convinced a frozen chook is worth a special trip back up the coast.

Well that narrows it down to ~18,000 people.

I drove down to Redland Bay this morning for a game of golf but the Sunday morning competition was cancelled and I did not really want to play golf on my own. I then drove down towards the Gold Coast and came back to do some shopping at Underwood while I had a rental car.

CP Pelican Waters could be in Canberra for the number of roundabouts you need to drive through.

Yes and I think ~3kms+ from Caloundra Road.

As a PC Gold I was given a stunning room on the 3rd floor. I think there are 11 floors.

On the bright side I have no idea how many PC points I will get for this one nights stay but it could be well over 10,000 points. Nice surprise at reception this morning when I was advised that I was charged the wrong pre-paid rate (charged $149 but should have been $117) and was given a credit for the difference. I can't recall anything like that happening before.

And while we are on Hotel Loyalty programs HHonors still had not credited the Hilton Adelaide stay in May correctly. Called them the other day and eventually I was given double + double HHonors points for the stay. :D

Don't worry, we had issues when we stayed there ; my friend (who was a local) punched the address into the GPS and let's just say we didn't end up anywhere near it :lol:

Well technically it is in golden beach not caloundra. But as kid I used to have home raft races in the creek that was on the north side of the swamp that is now pelican waters.
