The only downside is Vodafone appears to have poor coverage

Speaking of this, I was thinking of switching carriers myself. I'm thinking Telstra only because they can guarantee (or be the closest to guaranteeing) coverage wherever I am in Australia, be it in the city or remote, with some regard to the latter since the places I visit for work/study can very well be in such areas where Optus (my current) may only get a trickle reception or none at all.

Problem is working out whether to switch to prepaid or postpaid, and work out which package would be best for my needs. Always a tough decision-making process. I'd also like to keep my number in the process, which isn't always possible.

You are probably right 40mm - all I know is that it didnt stop raining here for two days. Monday and the sun is out and now exceptionally humid.

And with the sun out it brings the chance of secret mens business, ie., mowing the Sir Walter lawn, which appears to be growing before my eyes.

Cheers Dee

First chance for me in a long time to mow the lawn - it is only 10m x 3m - I emptied the grass catcher about 10 times and that was on the highest lawn height setting

Forgive me for this being on topic for AFF, but I thought it would be more fun sharing it here than in the QFF forum.

There's a little undocumented benefit currently as a result of Next-Generation Check-In at SYD for anyone with a QANTAS Club or a SG membership - anytime access to the QP. The reason being that your QP Card/SG Card is able to function as your boarding pass, so if the staff at the entry to the QP see you brandishing just your card, they assume you've used NGCI and let you in.

I noticed this behaviour on Friday night when using NGCI, and decided to put it to the test this morning. With my carry-on bags, coming into SYD from BNE this morning, I was able to wave my QP card at SYD when I arrived and they let me in.

I noted that there's a scanner for cards at the entry to the QP to determine who is flying out of SYD on that day and who is not, and I fully expect they'll start using them soon, especially if they realise what's going on, but it was nice to be able to stop in for an hour whilst waiting to head into Sydney city for my next appointment, have the barista coffee, and enjoy the Wi-Fi.

I did this in BNE, sort of. Simply showed my QP card and Silver NGCI card as I’d OLCI’d and they let me in.

.... and how do you work that out :?:

Must be a Mac thing, cannot get my mouse to hover, can get the mouse pointer to hover though, perhaps I should defer to the boards resident hover expert - straitman ;):D:cool:

And I am also getting close to 1,000 posts in this thread.

979 posts including this post....

At around 700+ posts in this thread, I have no idea how I am claiming third place in the post tally...

9910 posts now,at this rate we should hit the mark sometime tomorrow,so are we going to have an official competition then.:?:

You've made more posts on a single thread than I have made on the whole forum.:!:
Thanks. I think!

I would have gone for pre-paid as any unused credits are rolled over to the next month when you top up the account where as with post paid any remaining call credits are forfeited.

I'd also like to keep my number in the process, which isn't always possible.
I have been trying since Friday (4 days now) to have my existing number transferred to Vodafone without success.

My 24 month contract with Telstra expired on Friday and I don't know what happens with their billing but if I am charged a full month then Vodafone is going to have to pay for it due to their total incompetence.

Not specific to Mac. If has been a feature of vBulletin for many years. After you have clicked on New Posts, hover your mouse over the envelope to the left of the thread and it will either show the first 2 lines of the thread or show something along the line of "You have 2 post(s) in this thread, the last on 5th April 2010". You can also click on the Post count or the word "Posts" to the right and this will give you a list of all who have posted on a thread.

It will typically roll on month to month until you let them know what you are doing (cancelling, recontracting, whatever)

Ah ok. Wise guy. I would but I don't know how to post pictures! :p

I went to the Vodafone store downstairs and the number has finally being ported. I also went to the Telstra shop as well (needed my account number) and they said I should receive a pro-rata bill for the days used as my 24 months contract has expired.

Yep, planning my travel for Q1 next year all day, so being pedantic is good, 58 sectors for work and not finished yet ;). Love those DJ $69 specials to Cairns.
What $69 specials to Cairns? Corporate deal? When I looked the other day it was $99 specials to Cairns.
