Ok, this is probably one of the most stupid trivial things I've ever asked in my life but here goes...

How does an AA number format on a QF BP?

Does it print like this:

AMERICAN AIRLINES xx_xx_

Or like this:

AA xx_xx_

See, told you it was trivial and stupid , but I'd really like to know

Josh:p

According to my old boardng passes, it's the latter AA xx_xx_X. With status, the service info will appear as ONEWORLD RUBY/SAPPHIRE/EMERALD (delete as appropriate) AA xx_xx_X.

Here's a definition of what could be an interesting experience-: Claiming Velocity points for a flight on QF metal:!:

Now going back quite a few years (1996 IIRC), managed to earn (double) Ansett points on QF metal!

It was at the time when NZ and QF were codesharing trans tasman, and just when NZ got into bed with AN. Booked the NZ flight counting on a tie up with AN points, and sure enough, not only did they come through with earning AN points on NZ flights - but double points as well.

So earned double AN points on QF metal under a NZ codeshare.

Just ordered an extra 15kg of luggage (on top of my QFF Silver 33kg allowable). So apparently I have to print out an extra piece of paper and remind the bag drop staff too, despite having to buy the baggage online by going through my booking screens.

WTF?

If you could sounds like it could be a case of having your cake and being able to eat it as well.

If you had a QF pnr you could add your QF ffn into that unless the system was 'smart' enough to inhibit points accrual for some reason.

Last minute booking!

I've put my flights in the Meets thread, but that gets rarely perused and this is slightly different anyway.

I'll be down in SYD for the day this Wednesday 12 January: inbound to SYD on QF513 and outbound from SYD on QF548.

My schedule is a bit flexible so if anyone wants to catch up for lunch feel free to drop me a line.

Gate 19 at BNE. Wheee... They're running flights to Emerald?

And they did have a record of my extra baggage purchase. But they tried to tell me I was still over allowable until I pointed out the Silver FF on my booking.

I guess it was only Rockhampton Airport that went under, though I'd stick to Cairns unless you really want to be wet!

I was sent home from work at noon in case of flooding. Stopped at the supermarket and bought some chocolate. Would have bought beer but not allowed to buy it in uniform. Have to make do with wine.

Oh god I made the list. I need to get a life, or spend more time in the air where there is no internet (not like much of AA's fleet has it enabled anyway ;))

Thank you. We just went to the bottle shop so now we have beer, wine and chocolate. If I get to stay home tomorrow I'll be spending my birthday reading the new Tom Clancy novel.

Didn't post this sooner but had a great lunch in the SYD F lounge today before boarding JQ35 for MEL.

Managed to wash down about 5 glasses of Bolly too, not a bad effort considering I don't drink the stuff normally!

Was at the CBR J lounge this morning dropping off a fellow AFFer on his way to the FT SIN DO (I'm leaving tomorrow).

He checked in at the lounge because he only had carry on luggage. As the very efficient and friendly lady on the front desk was getting the relevant details (flights and passport) a man in a suit with attitude walked up to the desk and wanted to go straight in.

The QF lady gave him a quick smile as he fumbled with his card. Then he grumpily said 'I've got my gold card here' and put it on the desk. She very politely let him know he was in the wrong place, he demanded to know where he was and she told him the business lounge. Look on his face was priceless.

She then told us we were welcome to go in and she would bring the BPs when the process was finished (which she did very quickly).

Never saw man in suit again. :)
