Former ABC television newsreader Geoff Raymond has died in England after a sudden illness.

Mr Raymond presented the news in Melbourne the 1970s and '80s.
His death was confirmed by his daughter-in-law this morning.

The veteran newsreader also co-anchored Seven news with David Johnston.
Mr Johnston has paid tribute to Mr Raymond's talents.

Yeah people die, sad for the family etc...

Now if this bit is true I reckon it is absolutely hilarious.

"Geoff had a great sense of humour," he said.
"During the disappearance of Harold Holt... Geoff was on air and he said accidentally that everything had 'come to dead halt'. [That is] one of the things he was remembered for.

Is DaveNoble ever coming back?

I didnt quite realise his departure as a mod would = departure from AFF.....

I’m not sure I should speak on the matter, might be something for admin to talk about, but as far as I know they went hand in hand with each other. He’s still on FT as far as I know, so you could send him a PM there if you wanted to know more.

Have we stopped discussing cricket? I have copped a battering from the Poms in Thailand. And how about the unprecedented 3 innings defeats in a 5 test series? Well done England and enough said about the state of Australian cricket. :(

The top twenty five posters of 2010.
I could say I feel privileged to be included in the list but perhaps not.

I assume all those post counts (posts made and total posts) use the same global counting system, i.e. posts in the Playground are not counted.
That list includes all posts.

Well Mal is back in BNE after ~11 days away in Sri Lanka and Singapore.

Not looking forward to heading to work tomorrow.
I will be back in SYD, BNE tomorrow after 14 days overseas and then at work the day after.

Someone please help me? :(

Luckily the company I work for has a large number of Antipodeans as colleagues so therefore I've managed to scrape through unharmed

Oh come on it is only one series. Come back and talk when they win 2 series.

Oh they did......
:lol::lol:

And I am sure I will cop another battering in Thailand in March if the Aussies do not perform well in the World cup. :(

The poms are not good at most sports and when they win something you don't hear the end of it. ;)

That’s a bit 'pot calling the kettle black'… Australia are very good at most sports and love to rub it in to the poms and anyone else they can, every chance they get! They’re now getting all that back…

Who are you calling a 'big pot'? :p

But yes the Australians are better than the Poms in most sports that count.

In cricketing terms I have to admit we have been arrogant but perhaps we learnt to be humble during this last series.

Ok, So I've just seen this on the DJ flight status engine, bless them and their little (or big) IT glitches :p:

Can you see it

EDIT: Or maybe its not a glitch... It looks like DJ1529 HBA-SYD has been cancelled tomorrow and some pax have been bumped to QF1020??? (with the 8020 code) Does that sound right?

Hmm, I thought it was DJ1313 being listed twice with different flight times :)

So looks like there are two oddities!

They are both connecting flights, DJ1313 to MEL then an onward connection to SYD.

Another bug to the regular eye
