Anyone recognize the location by map only, I made it to Melbourne, flight was less than half full, so why was 4D showing blocked when it was free, I should stick to 4F as I had the curtain swinging against my leg in 4C ended up moving to 4F after take off. and I didn't get the plane rego, oh well.

Good to see you made it. See you on board the plane with the tasteful orange star on its tail tomorrow.

Yeah, I stayed there 9 times last year.

Do note that it's breakfast menu only until midday at the MEL Flounge.

So who lost the toss and is visiting the J lounge of the five of you tomorrow?

For what is quite a short overnight stay you've decided to stay rather far from the airport.

Luckily transport to and from the airport is not backbreakingly expensive. Nor is it in some sort of organised chaos like home.

There is only one logical answer to that question
I guess it is obvious/logical - does that mean "+1" be BB's guest?

In any case, I envy you guys - We attended in 2006, it's become bigger and better organised since.

A definite bummer that all cannot Flounge! :(

I have a feeling the 'all day' menu may become available at 1100 but I could well be wrong. I't's moot anyway, as departure time is 1200.

You can always try your luck with the front desk staff. This is MEL after all, and they are nice people behind the desk (the cycling rate is high, but I assume they are all still nice people).

If they still won't let you have another guest, you could always put on a little play that SWMBO always gets first dibs ;) :D

As for menu, in SYD they were fairly firm that no all day orders were taken before 12pm. It might be even too early to snaffle, say, a cheese platter. Check the self-servery and there might be something there.

Either that or I hope you all like eggs :)

I caught JQ3 to SYD on the 3rd January. It was definitely Midday.

It has varied in MEL however - maybe it has something to do with the departure of QF93 with its 12:10pm, 11:10am and 10:10am departures depending upon the various daylight saving status' (both in Oz and the USA).

Now onboard JQ7 and you might notice 2 AFFers on the same flight, how surprising and all row 1.

Should be a fun, I am sitting with my friends, ;)

Bit wet outside.

Darn.... It would appear that Coachtrans is not operating services today. :( Will walk down to Central to find out if trains are running.

On a good note a couple of hours ago QF changed my flight from tomorrow to today and waived all fees including the difference for higher airfare. And even better when I went online to look at the seat map 24D bulkhead was just waiting for me to allocate it. ;)

Brisbane airport thinks coachtrans are running. Here is the airport's advice on getting there, the train is supposed to be free.
I was on hold to Coachtrans twice and gave up after ~10 minutes on hold. The website would not let me book any services from Brisbane CBD - Airport today. Normally need to give Coachtrans ~3 hours notice on website bookings.

The airtrain sounds like a good idea.

Free airtrain ride to airport earlier.

Have been sitting in BNE domestic business lounge for over an hour and there have been <25 people in here at any time. No hot food of any kind either at 5:00pm.

P.S Have had a lemon squash, lemonade and a coke. Feels strange not to drink alcohol but may have a beer on the plane. Good to have alcohol consumption under control....

I assume only the basic, non-perishable stuff is there, e.g. biscuits, nuts, nibbles, crackers etc.. There mightn't be much else due to low supplies of fresh foods around BNE, let alone restricted carriage of goods, etc.

Aaahhhh.... Did not think of that.... That being said they did have cheeses, fetta, olives, salads, dips, soup, ham, salami, etc....

Hmm...let's see...

Packet, packet, jar, leftovers, tubs, powdered in packet or condensed in tins, leftovers, packet....

Not too difficult to keep stocks of those. Just look in most wartime shelters...

Alright, partial exaggeration there...
