I am not keen on the war coverage supplied these days either & I don't see a lot of advantage seeing various leaders flying to meet the troops & being shown in staged situations. Not a lot gained by reporters being on the ground in the middle of Egyptian riots either.
I briefly flicked over to channel nine today and I see that they still seem to be on continuous reporting from Christchurch. Seriously no need at all.

Ok, the CBA has opened their new "Flagship Branch" in Brisbane.

Our flagship branch - 240 Queen Street Brisbane - the bank of the future. - Commonwealth Bank Group

Nice and shiny.

Our new vision for The Commonwealth Bank has arrived. After months of planning and construction, we’re proud to introduce 240 Queen St, Brisbane as our National Flagship branch, offering seamless customer service through state-of-the-art technology and flexible banking solutions, our goal is to solve any financial need you may have, all in one place.

I hope criminals don't read that and form the wrong opinion! ;)

A professional barista café – Enjoy a coffee while you sit down to relax or wait for a specialist appointment.

Oooh. Coffee. Perhaps I need to drop in before work for my "coffee" appointment.

iPads and iPod Touches – Also available to access NetBank and other popular local content.

Oooh. Shiny!

Interactive touchscreens - These provide helpful information about financial planning at different stages of your life

Again. Shiny!

Now here are some interesting job titles of staff:
Executive Manager Flagship
Manager Flagship
Event Manager
Concierge

Have seen them spending quadrillions doing up the branch in recent times. I wonder if people will actually care!

So I went with a change of avatar, the Bunny Bear was only a short term change.

What do you think?

Yes I am in the photo, photo taken some time in 1999.

Sounds like more fun than going to work. I'm sick of this unlimited overtime. It's draining me!!!!!

Just in BNE waiting for DJ459 to DRW which was scheduled to depart at 2045. While in bag drop queue I noticed the departure time on screen was now 2200. CSA told me to get refreshment voucher at gate 41 upstairs, couldn't see anyone so went back to gate 39 but staff there didn't have any so had to go to gate 45.

Noticed upstairs on monitors the departure time was now 2215. Eventually got down to gate 45 & was given 2 $6.00 vouchers - was only expecting one. I asked if the flight was late due to the inbound operating aircraft then the girl there said yes as the flight hadn't yet left SYD but "we hope to get you away by 2345" which I double checked as the monitor only recently had 2215.

Was curious what rego it was so I could google AFF thread about the DJ Rogue aircraft but CSA couldn't tell me what rego it was nor if it had IFE so will just have to wait until I get onboard.

It seems DJ are a tad economical with their delay announcements as still hadn't heard anything over the PA about DRW flight. Wandered back down concourse towards gate as I felt a need for some kind of alcoholic beverage, not that I could use the voucher for alcohol but bought piccolo bottle of Pink Yellowglen.

Saw a businessman type in casual attire glance up at departures board & seeing flight was now going at 2345 utter "I've had it with this airline, I'm not flying with them ever again". Not sure what upset him more the actual delay or the lack of announcements. I asked him if he had a voucher yet & he didn't know anything about it so I told him to go down to gate 45 to get one.

Eventually heard an announcement re the delayed SYD flight DJ985 eta now being 2255 (was 1955 originally) & then "for passengers going on to DRW as this flight will be operating your service you now have an updated departure time of 2345 which is due to arrive in DRW at 0300".

Hear another announcement a few minutes later paging half a dozen DRW pax to go to gate 41 but not sure what that was for. Currently amusing myself at one of the net kiosks & accidentally sploshed some Y onto keyboard but amazingly enough no keys have stuck together yet so my typing is still coherent.

Posting under the influence is not always a great idea...

And Yellowglen:?::!: Yeesh.....

I guess all should be glad that the DJ flight could make it out of SYD on time to beat the curfew, otherwise not only would there be a load of p*ssed pax in SYD not getting to BNE, there would be another very p*ssed pax load in BNE that are also not going to DRW.

Even though it's great that you will all get to DRW without having to bump to another flight, the new timing of dep 2345h arr 0300h is pretty brutal. :( Not to mention there will be a plethora of annoyed loved ones at DRW who will have to stay up that long to pick up delayed pax from the airport (or grumble at them to take a taxi home!)

I was wandering around the Brisbane CBD before, and there's some kind of convention type event at the Hilton. Many people are running around town with the following written on black t-shirts:

"Qantas wants us" <Qantas is written in the QF corporate font>
"I will overcome the fear factor"
(and on the back "One Queensland" with a huge stylised Q).

Any ideas who or what they are representing?

Virgin Blue:?:

:p

On another note, the QSM was quite crowded last night. I think the buildings around Albert Lane had a fire alarm go off. Buildings evacuated, people all around, fire truck in attendance.

I wasn't aware of any disgruntled pax onboard whinging to crew. I was impressed that the previous crew stayed onboard the aircraft so they could get all pax on in the meantime as we weren't so much waiting for the aircraft coming from SYD, but the cabin crew who were operating that flight. I heard one of the FA's telling another pax they had flown CBR/SYD/BNE/DRW that day - a fair days work in anyone's language.

The Captain did a PA apologising for the delay saying that it hadn't been a good day for DJ across the network & unfortunately we were the ones bearing the brunt of it. There was a minor seating issue as two people had a boarding pass for 5C which got sorted & the bloke got moved to an exit aisle & the mum with 2 kids stayed in 5ABC.

The new crew arrived but seemed cool, calm & collected. I was expecting that they might be a bit flustered having had to dash off one aircraft onto another but that wasn't the case. CSM was Brett & cabin crew were Troy, Renae & another girl whose name escapes me but were very professional not immature or giggly as has been my experience with DJ in the past.

The a/c did have IFE so not a Rogue & headsets & all 24 entertainment channels were complimentary for the flight. I used my disrupt vouchers inflight on cheese & crackers, Byron Bay cookies & lemonade, giving the idea of anymore Yellowglen the flick.

Arrived in DRW at 0245 with the only other aircraft at the terminal being a JQ A321 which was possibly from SIN or DPS. Bags started coming off the belt before I even got downstairs so didn't have long to wait for my luggage, no queue of people on the cab rank so got taxi straight away then arrived home 5 minutes after that.

All's well that ends well. :p :p

Finally after 3 months of procrasination finally brought myself a new Laptop;

Sony Vaio VPCF135FG, which has nice 16.4" screen, now to add the programs you use the most including bookmarks and remembering all the passwords.

Have you been hacked?

New laptop was the biggest change; time for a change on a few things, including passwords.

If you can crack my Qantas password you can break into my Iphone and computer,

If you can crack the facebook password then you can get into my bank accounts but you can only transfer $5,000 a day, anything bigger and you will need a token. ;)

Still deciding on a new password for a few other things.

I need to write down all these new passwords.

Oh, any suggestions when turning off one laptop and going to a new one.

And today I met someone who knew Ozbeachbabe, small world indeed.

Not surprised you took it all in your stride ozbeachbabe as well as informing other pax about their entitlements.

Bet you're having a sleep in this morning!
