I have spent the last few hours booking a bit of an airline marathon around Europe.

Airlines.

LH come in a few varieties, the LH(Italia) based one and the regular one. LX weren't giving away any seats for award redemption.

Does anyone know who this airline SAS refer to as Quantas.

And I only selected seats on one airline, BA  as the others wanted to charge between 5-10 Euro.

Airberlin did have a nice range of available menu options, I went with the cheapest curryworst option. (spelling)

I guess it'll be the "...worst" if you don't like it:!: Otherwise, it's currywurst

An impressive itinerary you have there. You visiting all those places or just hopping along?

Has anyone ever considered starting a DONE4 in KRT? I'm only half considering it - although I figure if I'll start one in JNB, then it's not that bad going to KRT.

Although with JNB you can fly in on QF63 and be gone on a flight out to Spain within 5 hours, so can stay in the airport. With KRT there's only one flight in and out on OneWorld, RJ510/511, and not a lot of time to turn around (particularly if this is your first flight in a DONE4.

3 days until I fly out CNS-NRT (dep 16/4) and hope this series of mega-aftershocks settles down. 3 each of M6+ is not inspiring. Although I did live through a 6.5 and a 6.8 in Miyagi in 2005 and 2008 respectively.

I'm a bit disappointed I can't go and visit some friends in my poor tsunami destroyed old hometown though - some friends are up in that area from Tokyo working as volunteer translators and it's pointless to go up unless you have your own camping kit and provisions.:-|

As an update from the previous rant - got an email from AirNZ customer service and they have recredited my AirPoints - hurrah! Although they did make some comment about me try to credit to an ineligible program... Methinks different customer service person who didn't read the entire story. Nonetheless, I now have enough points for obscure Asian flight route! (ICN-DEL)

Am I a true friend? Consider this, last week I drove a fellow AFFer to the airport to start his US trip, CBR-SYD-LAX and onwards.

At the CBR J lounge another CBR based AFFer met us before departing on his own US adventure. Anyway the bloke I drove checked in at the entry desk (carry on only) and was offered an earlier flight to SYD. He looked at me and I said you must take it even if our breakfast is cut short.

After all friends don't let friend miss out on F Lounge time. :)

Probably one of the best comments of the Off Topic Thread. in recent times.

Well done, first for giving the AFFer a lift and secondly the earlier flight for more F lounge time.

I made all the bookings, just waiting for one more itinerary to show up.

Hurry up AirBerlin.

All these multiple segments are good to add to tripit but not so good when you miss a segment.

For all your Facebookers out there.... Facebook offers secure browsing using HTTPS now. As your IT geek friend I suggest you do this to avoid having session hacks etc. Pretty simple and quick to enable.

Top right click 'Account' --> 'Account Settings'
Click 'change' next to the 'Account Security' option
Check the option 'Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) whenever possible'
I also checked the 'Send me an email' when someone from a new device signs in. I thought I could deal with a few useless emails to ensure it doesn't get hacked but you don't really need that.

Then click 'Save' and all done.

NGCI up and running in BNE effective 1800 tonight.

Sweet!

Thanks for the heads up!

An absolutely essential update for anyone who uses public WiFi -- similar settings should be checked for any other social media site you log in to as well.

I now hate not having Daylight Savings .. rolling clocks back on the east coast of AU neatly coincides with rolling clocks forward in US; waking up for 5 am calls just isn't civilised! :(

I know that he is hopping down to TLS for the day - to go on the Airbus Tour with me :D

If you're doing a lot of surfing on public unencrypted Wi-Fi, then consider things like a private VPN. It has the added advantage of being able to access UK or US services like BBC iPlayer, too. And it can be done for about $5/month.

:(
My qantas icons have not updated since about 24/3. Not that I put any faith in the icons but I have pulled in 50k points from flying in the last 30 days and I was looking forward to seeing that number.
:( :(
