Perhaps. Was it Devaux or Cliquot Ponsardin? The former is alright. Latter isn't my cup of tea.

What else was on the shelf? Moet, DP, Bolli, Lanson.....

All but DP.

It was the CP, yick!! NV and V. And I do like the Devaux :D

I almost got the Bolly.. but thought it was icky too! :p

Haha I like Taittinger too, but I know some here are very opposed to it… and I would have some Perrier-Jouet (yet to try it) if SYD duty free hadn’t recently decided to scrap all mid-range Champagne :-|

Can't believe I missed Taittinger in the line up I gave before..... and it is one of my favourites, too....

Good news, they're bringing him out of sedation later today. Still pondering my options.. not sure if I should or not, there's probably not too much I could do anyway.

Good news, Flashware, I wouldn't rush to catch a plane back to Australia just yet, and I would be more inclined to see how things progress. Amazing how cheap last minute airlines ex UK can be though.

An interesting trip report can be found over on www.airliners.net - 8hrs, 8 Segments On An Aussie Dash 8

This is not a trip report about a longhaul flight in a premium cabin from Europe to North or South America or Asia with flatbed seats and IFE with 500 movies to choose from. It does not cover glitzy airport lounges and their interiors, experiences with connecting flights. This trip report is about a little known but essential intrastate airservice provided by a small airline that operates throughout the vast reaches of the State of Queensland, Australia.
No I didn't write it.

What an awesome read. I actually know the flight attendant Lauren who was on his Q6 flight & she's an extremely nice person. She used to work for Macair so is no stranger to Outback QLD flying. After flying for JQ based in DRW got the job with Q6 in BNE.

Have not flown in Western QLD but have been to Lockhart River (IRG) Coen (CUQ) & Palm Island (PMK) in and out of CNS & TSV on the Dash8. Some spectacular scenery of the Great Barrier Reef flying down the coast from IRG back to CNS flying over the coral atolls.

I checked and current prices are $379 on Mondays and Thursdays… but the return from Mount Isa on QF is $309 so it’s either a case of waiting for a sale, or using points.

What about a JASA ex ISA? Might have to o/night in the ISA to get a morning flight out in order to get to BNE & beyond. JASA's ex TSV via BNE are cheaper than BNE/DRW direct so you may find some other anomaly ex ISA. You can do it Rock!

Is starting a xONEx ex ISA an option?

Thats a poor SC run IMHO LOL, try this one, grab an Air north flight ex ISA to DRW for $200 then a JASA DRW-TSV via BNE for 24K + $70 (nets 140 SC) then grab the dash 8 to BNE all stops :D:D:D.

Alternatively you could just grab the Air North flight form ISA direct to OOL - boring

That doesn’t take into account the fact my car would be at BNE airport ;)

I looked at JASA’s, but a classic in economy seemed better value, but still not amazing. I think the best idea, other than your idea to head to DRW, is to wait for a QFLink sale, which I think we’ve just missed

What about throwing in a sector on a train somewhere like the Gulflander which is a bit rustic?

Giving some thought to whether I should take up a job in regional Australia for six months. It'll mean being away from partner - on the other hand it means a better job for the moment. And it'll mean I'll be halfway to WP if I commute there by QFLink weekly...
