What's Lion?

If you need to ask, you're not waiting :p

But OS X Lion is the next mac OS and as it's an app store exclusive, and weighs in at 4GB, will take all night to download most likely, so want to get it started tonight, so it's ready to go tomorrow.

I just realised that I have not yet seen "Up in the Air"!

Don't get me wrong I want to see it but have never come across it anywhere. Am I the only one?

You aren't the only 1 not to have watched it, I do have it on DVD which I can loan to you and bring to AFF drinks next week. I probably own about 5 DVDs in total, I usually don't see the point in buying a movie because once I seen it then why would I watch it again.

I also have Airplane 1 and 2 on DVD, the first movie was good but Airplane 2 most of the good jokes were over by the first half hour.

We had a speaking competition heat today of which I took out the heat and am now in possession of a 8GB 4Gen iPod touch.

I'm planning to hook it up to my laptop tonight, allow the two to get acquainted and then possibly start to sync things over.

This is the first time I'm using a device which runs on iOS, plus whilst I have an iTunes account (having bought a couple of songs before), I haven't dealt with the Apple Store.

Are there any things that I should do first up / know about straight away, either after I get acquainted with the iPod and/or before I jump into the thick of things?

When you update iOS (if I have to do it), does all the data on the iPod get wiped? (I assume this is not really an issue as all data - except settings - is "backed up" or synchronised in iTunes so will always be restorable from the host system... or am I wrong?)

I'm not a techno-phobe as some of you will attest to, but just in case there are key things I should know about rather than just picking up here and there by guessing.

Congratulations on winning, well done.

If it was new then it probably won't have much on it that you would want anyway, but like an Apple device you are best to update it to the latest software before loading programs onto it.

I had to take my IPhone4 into the Apple store with the latest updates, and the one I got back I then had to update it to the latest software.

Anybody watching Masterchef? They are at the QF F Lounge tonight.

Thanks for the reminder, hardly ever watch Masterchief, but seems like I always check the latest posts on the Off Topic Thread.

I was watching Masterchef for Ellie and Dani (aka LegoHead). Saw John Eales was there the night of taping, as was my Premier, Anna Bligh. Pity she didn't get food poisoning :o

Joyce needs to learn to eat with his mouth shut and Perry needs a haircut and a real job :D

Sent from my iPhone using Aust Freq Fly app

Anyone else waiting for Lion?

Really wish they'd release it before I go to bed, 4GB is a big download!
 I googled Lion and this is what I got? So still .

That could work but I could also wait until end September if QF have it on the IFE on the A380.

Two Things:

1. Tony's Tip.

If you have lost three of your front teeth and go ahead to have three implants done at the same time don't have the procedure done under local anesthetic.

2. I have Lion installed and running on my 11" MacBook Air. (Just downloading to my 13" Air) :p

Have I mentioned that I love Virgin. Imagine my surprise when I checked in tonight to see I have a PE BP. Was sure I purchased Y  :D

No luck on getting the Antler fixed, they said the parts are just near on impossible to get from them and having had a look at the case he doesn't have anything else he thinks he could use to fix it.

RIP

Anyway, I'm thinking about what other light weight case I could use to replace it... thinking something like samsonite b-lite - Google Search

Any opinions or other suggestions?
