Kind of - some pros and cons. Possibly back to Qld in 2013.
I have been noticing an increase in the number of jobs for my field advertised in Melbourne recently.

Quietly thinking about a change but sometimes it is more a case of better the devil you know than the devil you don't know....

Better pay? If so, you could apply, and if successful, could use it to ask current employer whether they would match the new pay rate:idea:

Be careful with that. There are some employers who would rather pay more to employ someone afresh rather than keep the employee that can do the job well already. :-|

Highly unlikely considering the very low pay increase in 2009, followed by an even lower pay increase in 2010 and no pay increase in 2011.

Consider yourself lucky. That's almost the first company I've heard of even giving a pay increase in the past 3 years:!:

If costs are going to increase on a regular basis then it should be compulsory for all companies to pay at least the CPI as an increase every year.

Cant pay that well-I see fiona and Shrek are stars of the Burnie show in 2 weeks.A spot of moonlighting?:p

Ok , you caught us out
We will be appearing via satellite due to our prior commitments in Far Far Away (aka my mum and dad's place)

I couldn't agree more.... unfortunately most companies are still using the "GFC" as a "plausible" (:lol:) excuse for not doing so...

For those of us who fly frequently in and out of Gold Coast. There is now free WiFi through the terminal. :p

I normally use my iPhone tethering, but the signal at OOL is hit and miss. I'm on the WiFi now and it's very fast!

Good on OOL I say, they probably made next to nothing selling WiFi here, but it's a great benefit to have it available if you need it. Especially if there is no lounge yet.

Seriously "most" companies? I would be expecting it to be the reverse...

I'm still yet to hear of anyone in my circle of friends in both UK & Aus to get a payrise. You would expect that, wouldn't you, especially given a certain company that I know someone here works for who has been announcing records profits each year.. but still has a pay freeze on :|

And it is funny how pay freezes only ever apply to the workers in a company and not the executives.

I love hearing/reading how a company is putting on pay freezes for workers and only a few days later to announce salary increases to the executives. They must think the workers are dopes and do not notice.
