Just watched "Mississippi Burning" on FOX Classics. No intention too but it came on after another show and we were basically transfixed. Yes, seen it before, but 'twas fascinating.

After watching the movie, the Internet makes a new dimension in being able to easily research the move and it's players ... rather than trying to glimpse the trailing credits.

I've been watching the series "Eyes on the Prize" for uni which is about segregation in the US.

They are on youtube, episode 1 can be found here.

The first-time scan can take several minutes to complete. Please wait....

Almost 24 hours later and the green bar has only just surfaced....

Close to 40 hours now and still going. The green bar/line has only just become visible.

This could be the longest virus scan ever. :p

Time to reformat your computer methinks. Either that or start using your laptop surface to bake some cookies. :p :D

Computer was absolutely fine starting up in 'Safe Mode'. Uninstalled AVG and computer was lightning fast again. Installed Windows Security Essentials and running a full scan and computer is super slow again.

What is it with Anti-virus products? Close to 2 days now and <10% of scan completed. I am having fun watching the full scan do nothing for hours on end. :p

Run the scan in safe mode if you can. Gives quicker access as not as many services etc. running. Google mbam-setup.exe as well and install/run that. In addition to that... also The home of Spybot-S&D!

I saw a Qantas pilot on duty yesterday in uniform wearing a bright red tie (instead of black one) with the caption "Qantas Pilots for Qantas flights".

Unions are going to cause all sorts of mayhem next week

The TWU yes, but that's nothing to do with the Pilots. Apparently the witching hours are 0600-1000 on Tue 20 Sep.

I'm planning to go to DRW Tue am at 0915 but don't plan to have luggage, however plenty of other people will so it'll be interesting to see what happens.

Calling drron,

Rivers.com.au have a sale on from Sunday 18th to Wednesday 21st Oct for Men's Microfibre SHORTS :!:

I can forward the email if needed :!:

I like to consider myself largely immune to advertising, but the current ads on TV for Rivers have ensured I will never (knowingly) spend a cent on any of their products. They drive me nuts (apparently socks are cheap when rock music is played and basic guys enjoy stupid advertising)!

+1. There are a whole range of ads that I find too stupid for words, but they must appeal to some punters.

They have always done their own ads using internal staff. Not sure if this has changed. The ads must appeal to a certain demographic, but it is possible that they have no idea how successful or not their advertising is.
