PM Bevan and ask, but I’m not sure if it’ll be on in January due to a lot of regulars being away/the F lounge run on the weekend immediately after. After all the flying I take that week I’m not so sure how I’ll be feeling either :p

Well, I don't know what all the fuss was about. Had Yellow Fever (didn't even feel the needle go in...) and Dip/Tet/Polio today. Neither of the needles hurt and my arm is only a little bit sore from the DTP one, the YF one I wouldn't even know I had it.

Don't know whether there's any truth to the rumour that if you press down on the area of skin where the needle went in that it reduces, bruising and/or soreness.

I had a blood test today and was freaking out the whole time. Me and needles, vains or blood don't get along. *shudders thinking about it again*

Well, that's the whole idea, you end up thinking what was that all about. Had you had a more dramatic reaction, you certainly wouldn't be typing the very same thing!

It's so comforting to know that you have little inclination to indulge in vanity. :p :D

SWMBO tells me rabies is the one to have. ;)

I couldn't find another thread that really suited my question so I will put it hear since it seems like we have a lot of members with experience in business. I received an offer to join a new company with a slightly higher salary (~8%), I am unsure on the stability of the company compared to my current employer which is quite small in comparison. In terms of building a career is it favourable to move around? I have been with my current employer 3 years - I joined them straight after completing my University degree. My current work environment is OK, however I don't have a favourable opinion on how the office is run. I have a few days to decide whether to accept and would be grateful to hear any input any of you might have. If you need any more information I will happily provide it. Thanks

I'm not as bad as you, but I really have to spend five or so minutes beforehand getting into my calm space before a Phlebotomist or other medical professional can do their thing. I really feel the sensation of the needle going in as well as while it is sitting there in the vein, and generally I have a nice bruise after having blood drawn for at least 2-3 days.

It sucks even more when they have to draw four or more vials in one go, which has happened a few times in the last year. In the space of two months last year, I had to suffer through three separate visits to the path lab/A&E; each time having anywhere between four to eight vials drawn for testing.

That was all thanks to some unhygenic pax on the JR Beetle ferry between Hakata and Busan - may all your future Christmases be ruined by the trots, and an eternally runny nose.

Boy some scared people here.I have 600mls blood taken every 2-3 months.

As I already mentioned I'm not scared. Just don't like the pain and the dizzy feeling when donating doesn't help either. Of course, the free Coopers Pale Ale afterwards helps with the dizziness. ;)

Sent from my iPhone using Aust Freq Fly app so please excuse the lack of links.

Australia go 2 up against India.Hilfy gets 5.Clarke takes Tendulkar's wicket.
Now for some consistency.

I can't believe so many people are so scared of needles, I give 600ml blood twice a year and it doesn't hurt at all, when I get the regular blood test once a year I don't feel a thing, I am usually more scared when I take the bandage off 2 hours later. ;)

No its actually treatment. The medicos here should now know my genetic history.

The penny drops ;)

How about non medicos, I guess when you have a number above 400 then that is some reason to give blood.
